They key is choice, they can choose to go back to work or not. Hell I never missed a day of work when they were predicting million plus deaths in the US. Maybe I'm a sociopath?
Funny, I remember you and others grumbling back when March Madness etc. got voluntarily cancelled and a bunch of businesses shut down before there was any government issuing mandates. People, not sure about you, grumbled about businesses choosing to require masks before there was any requirement that they do so. Choice didn’t have anything to do with any of that.
For most people, it has **** all to do with choice or individual liberty. It’s about the disruption of their status quo. Whether that’s financially, politically, not being able to watch football or just the inability to get a haircut. Blathering about freedom makes them sound less like a bunch of selfish bastards and they think nobody will notice that they ignore people refusing to exercise what choices they do have.
Maybe you’re not one of those people, I don’t know for sure, so I’m not saying you are, but I’m skeptical that most posters here would give a rats ass about the individual liberty of people in Michigan if business was good, the NFL was on, and Marsha Blackburn was the MI governor.
Of course I was grumbling about March madness being cancelled, it was a stupid move and it was my choice to grumble just as it was the NCAAs choice to cancel it. I suppose you think the government should have forced them to cancel it?
You might find a couple posts of me saying it was stupid for a business to require masks but you'll never find a post of mine supporting any .gov mandate to prevent a business from requiring them or requiring them.
You are probably ok with the government mandating your daily life and taking choices away from you but I suspect your position is more political than anything. Not true convictions which makes them even more disgusting and lends to the stereotype.
Oh boy. I must have touched a nerve.
I always enjoy lectures on partisanship and principles form the “anti-government” guy who cites the government’s accusation as proof in a case where one of the president’s antagonists is being imprisoned for lying to Congress, an act which said lecturer claimed shouldn’t even be a crime when committed by one of the president’s underlines to help the president.
Nevermind the laundry list of executive overreach that this lecturer has defended on behalf of the very same president.
Seems like projection.![]()
But if they cut it that low - the idiot governors should lift all the capacity sanctions, so business can hire a full staffThats what ive seen as well. 200 with another 1200 check coming. It should help, but force some to go back to work. Especially in some of the more expensive cost of living states.
Couldn’t refute what? The admission that you criticized people for making choices to preserve their health and the health of their employees before individual liberty became an issue? No need to refute that. It was exactly what I was going for.You couldn't refute a damn thing I posted so you changed the subject?
It's almost like arguing with my wife.
