The EU as a whole is a better comparison.. i.e. comparable population...
You don't think that our current infection rate is destined to eclipse the EU in deaths, in the very short term?
You can’t just take away states. Not how it works.I think the comparisons are very difficult to make. Take NY and NJ out and we look completely different.
What is their average age? What is the health of their aged versus ours? What percent live in nursing homes versus ours. On and on.
I see nothing that says we flopped in comparison to them.

I suppose it all comes back to the success of preventing the spread, which we have certainly failed in comparison. It seems that containment isn't a possibility now, and the results of the that failure to do so are all but certain.
Not saying this to be all gloom and doom, but ultimately boasting the most testing doesn't seem worthy of much note if that data isn't used for containment.
Well Italy, in particular, and the rest of Europe have a older population. I agree there are lots of variables. I am curious to see, and what some project, if the HIT rate is 15-20% on this. That would be huge!I think the comparisons are very difficult to make. Take NY and NJ out and we look completely different.

You haven't seen me insist that anyone wear a mask, but I've seen many on here repetitively claim that they are worthless. As if that is a good excuse to not do so.
What percent of our population has been infected versus a UK or France? Do you know?
Here is the US vs EU etc.. I think it could be broken down by countries on the web link.

Agreed. I don’t think any local government decisions have been about Trump. The same is true of schools. I’d guess that some may choose online out of local pressures from teachers, parents, or others. Some may simply because they’re worried about spreading it, whether valid or not. It's a tough call. I don't think schools that have made the decision to operate online are doing so out of political animus towards Trump.
According to TN counties a child is able to spread it at 12 years old but not 11.Mask wearing reduces spread. It's not just fact, it common sense.
Ok, non-biased one, tell me at what age a school-aged child is likely to spread as easily as an adult? I'll just tell you that the data is out there, and Trump with his thumb on the CDC, isn't eager to have that data shared officially.
