Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Because it’s a stupid move politically. Before this he could blame the local municipalities if this goes bad. Now he has to own it. And, he’s publicly challenging his most likely 2022 opponent, in Bottoms. He barely beat Abraham’s who doesn’t have near the resume or recognition Bottoms has. He could have avoided it all together. Now he’s knee deep in it. His advisors are idiots.

Individual liberty shouldn’t be a political issue.

'This weekend President Trump finally took the easiest possible step to help contain the virus: put on a mask in public, which he did while visiting the Walter Reed military hospital. Yet his administration also started an anonymous smear campaign against Dr. Anthony Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, apparently because he has been raising the alarm about the pandemic and making Trump look bad. On Monday morning Trump was back to his usual conspiratorial fulmination, retweeting a post alleging that "CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors" are lying about the pandemic. Later he nonsensically blamed the Obama administration for "stopping testing."

Trump's incompetent response to the US coronavirus outbreak is helping China look good
Trump's incompetent virus response was decades in the making

Fauci has been far from perfect - he should've been more Forceful in his warnings about how bad things were likely to get and was late on the conversion to masks. However, he's also been resource and counterpoint ---simply providing what relevant information he was allowed (including uncertainties involved in assessing risks) -- a factual foil to some of the outrageously wrong things the trump has spouted..

I don't even think many liberals in here can make any sense out of this... If you can, I would love to hear it.

Cuomo: Customers must order food with alcohol at restaurants, bars

It sounds like what's happening is they have socially distanced the seats at the bar but people are still walking up to the bar and standing there eliminating the spacing. He wants to eliminate casual drinking and loitering physically at the bars. Nobody is going to stand and eat at a bar so it'll encourage them to get a table.

Former game show host leaves Twitter after his son contracts Covid-19

Former game show host Chuck Woolery's son has Covid-19, a spokesperson for Woolery said Thursday.
"Chuck's son is fine and asymptomatic," Mark Young, with Jekyll and Hyde Advertising, told CNN.
Woolery made news late Sunday when President Donald Trump retweeted Woolery saying everyone is lying about Covid-19.

"The most outrageous lies are the ones about Covid 19. Everyone is lying," Woolery said in that tweet.

"The CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors, not all but most, that we are told to trust. I think it's all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back, which is about the election. I'm sick of it," his tweet said.
Woolery deactivated his Twitter account Wednesday, Young said.

In his last posted tweet, Woolery said, "Covid-19 is real and it is here."

Wow. Another stable genius.

I think Donald just found his new running mate for 2020.

Atlanta: Mayors in Atlanta and other Georgia cities deepened their defiance of Gov. Brian Kemp on Thursday, saying they want their requirements for people to wear masks in public to remain in place, even after the Republican governor explicitly forbade cities and counties from mandating face coverings. Officials in at least 15 Georgia cities and counties, including Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, had ordered masks during the coronavirus pandemic, and many are venting outrage at Kemp swatting down their efforts. “The mayor’s order remains in effect, as science and data will continue to drive the city’s decisions,” Michael Smith, a spokesperson for Bottoms, wrote in a text. “Masks save lives.” Kemp doesn’t disagree, saying he strongly supports mask-wearing to combat the spread of COVID-19 infections. But he has maintained for weeks that cities and counties don’t have the power to require masks in public places.

This will be fun to watch the Trump-puppet Kemp backtrack on this one. He's in the wrong - just like Dumb Donald - and will be publicly humiliated over his knuckle dragging here.

Seems like a simple issue..... do they have the power to mandate it?
