We live in a society with inherent risks. The spreading of germs is but one of those inherent risks. Do I think wearing a mask right now is the smart and prudent thing? Yes. But people will choose to do what they will. I'm not advocating for or against the use of masks. I'm advocating for civility. Everyone is tense and on edge, and short fuses seem to be in ample supply. JMO, but now is a time to be kind to one another. We're all experiencing the stress of the times. So maybe we shouldn't jump to name calling or accusing people of killing others. It doesn't help the situation. The problem is my mask protects you not me. Your mask protects me not you. So you’re not risking your health by not wearing one you’re risking everyone else’s. That is what people don’t seem to get about the whole mask deal and why it is so important to wear one (very easy for an asymptomatic person that doesn’t know he or she has it to infect the vulnerable and kill them and/or for that one non mask wearer or start an outbreak).
The price of your freedom not to wear one is paid for by the people you expose or put at risk not you. The masks can help the wearer some, especially the cloth ones, but the true benefit/purpose is that it doesn’t spread the mask wearers germs to everyone around them. The masks are more like face condoms to prevent the wearer from spewing their germs out to the world rather than something like a gas mask designed to keep you from breathing bad stuff in.
I think if more people understood how the whole mask thing worked more would understand the tension. Your freedom could cost someone else their life or the life of someone they love. Ironically the ones wearing masks are protecting those who aren’t.
***Note I’m using the general you/me here.
I wouldn't trust the cognitive ability of whomever conducted that study.People who don't wear a mask have lower cognitive ability, says study

I always enjoy an article that calls people stupid. I wore a mask, washed hands, social distanced and still got the crap. It doesn’t matter. Does the mask help according to studies....yes. It reduces the chances of contracting the virus significantly. The only way to not catch this mess is stay inside, interact with nobody and become a hobbit.Lol 650 individuals out of 330 million. That’s a legit study if I’ve ever seen one.....![]()
That's like saying that if I like to cover my mouth when I sneeze, you won't object, but if someone else likes to spray everyone around them, they should just go ahead and do it.I get tired of the two sides arguing and insulting each other with this mask debate. Why can't we just agree that individuals should do what they want? We all know the risks, we all know what this disease can do, so let people decide how they want to respond. Wearing a mask does not make one a bitch, and not wearing one does not make one a killer. Not everything has to be blown up into an insult-fest.
Thanks for that.We live in a society with inherent risks. The spreading of germs is but one of those inherent risks. Do I think wearing a mask right now is the smart and prudent thing? Yes. I'm blaming the consistent spreading of this damn virus directly on the ones that are not following CDC guidelines. Thanks for all you have done MF'ers. Keeping economy going backwards. Maybe no football. People getting hospitalized and some die. It ain't from the ones using their heads and listening to PROFESSIONALS. F*** Facebook, Twitter, and any other misinformation platform. I want our regular lives back. F*** your freedoms we have a serious issue called a Pandemic going on.Like I said before, the mask is not to protect the person wearing it but to keep your germs in. That is why I called it a face condom rather than a gas mask. Even with poor hygiene some people aren’t going to contract it. The cruise ship provided some of the best data on that including a couple that was confined together breathing recycled air. Husband was infected but the wife was not. It’s not a certainty that exposure equals infection but a likelihood.
At any rate, I want football and life to get more normal so all y’all wear your dang masks, wash your hands and keep your distance so we can suppress this. The goal is to get the numbers low enough to where we can get back to normal and deal with small outbreaks the same way we do when schools shutdown for a week due to illness.

THE ONLY WAY WE CAN WIN IS IF WE ALL PLAY ON THE SAME TEAM. God bless America. Love you all, let's all row in the same direction, cause we are all in the same boat.
If people who don’t wear masks are idiots, then what would you say about the people who, out of a scientism-induced myopia, affirm the dismantling of the economy at the cost of actual lives, and unfathomable debt to our children?People who don't wear a mask have lower cognitive ability, says study

i understand your point of view and wish we could be more civil to one another,. Being an ass to one another has become too commonplace over the past few years and I’m not sure why. What I’m saying though is that some of this is going to be irreconcilable. The stakes are just too high when one group sees it as a life and death situation akin to the safety risk drunk driving presents while another group sees wearing masks as the first step in a march to government pogroms. We live in a society with inherent risks. That article is from the Daily Mail. It’s a right leaning UK tabloid known for sensationalism and is only one step above those tabloids that do alien baby and hitler cat stories. The US doesn’t have an equivalent but if it did it would be like the National Enquirer and New York Daily News had a love child. They take a kernel from source materials and write wild fiction around it.I always enjoy an article that calls people stupid. I wore a mask, washed hands, social distanced and still got the crap. The man catching Covid at a Covid party and dying from Covid has a 0% chance of being true.
Natural selection if you ask me.Yeah, I'm almost in this boat too. Who is this guy? Have friends or family spoken out? Who's the nurse he confessed to? I would say I'm surprised the story has gotten this much traction based on a rumor, but MEDIA. None of this diminishes the fact that Covid parties are dumb as hell.
