Why are South Carolina and Tennessee doing better death/treatment wise? Do we have more hospitals per capita? Better hospitals? What?

At any rate, for the past month (maybe longer), I've been in several stores where I was the only person wearing a mask (minus employees). And before then it was largely only women (the moms and elderly) that were wearing them with only a handful of men. He's an ass about how he states things but on the whole we haven't been practicing basic safety precautions either. We'll get through it and lower transmission rates with better precautions but we have been pretty damn cavalier. It's not wrong to acknowledge that -- it's inconvenient but it's an easy fix.

I think you would have to have something like a hospitalization:death ratio, age-race adjusted to see how well hospitals are treating patients once they enter the hospital system.

A lot of the lower death rate right now, across the country, seems to be some mixture of younger demographics contracting it and having lots of natural Vitamin D during the summer. Maybe we have gotten better at treating it too, idk. Hopefully that is true, but I haven't seen much from doctors lately.

I would appreciate some prayers. My Father-in-Law has taken a sudden turn for the worse. He has cancer, but has developed respiratory symptoms and is spiraling down. They just called my wife earlier. She’s driving to Houston now. I am staying here with my kids.
If it’s his time, then please don’t let him suffer. If it’s not, then please let him recover quickly.
