What would you call the bs? For the most part, I think most Americans view the two terms as equal, when obviously there is a big difference.
There is a huge difference between "liberal" and "leftist", we agree there. And most of the differences laid out in the article are correct. There are just a few I disagree with.

My main disagreement is the nationalist/anti-immigrant bit. Liberals are overwhelmingly pro-free trade, pro-immigrant, pro-international alliances.
And the unnecessary digs at Obama, obvious support for Trump by the writer, is just annoying. Trump is a populist and much, much more aligned with anti-liberalism.

Didn’t you do some work on the Mayor Pete campaign? I’m fairly new to the Politics thread.

So you are saying that they all did not raise their hands? You saw something different from me.
Yes. Pete has never once advocated for socialized, M4A single payer insurance. Not once. He caught a lot of **** for not jumping on the AOC/Bernie Bro wagon for single payer. He also had a lot of issues with the Green New Deal.

Now I definitely know why I respected Mayor Pete during the primaries!

The right/conservatism is pro-immigrant, too.

The difference is that the right sees a distinction between following the rules to come to the US legally vs. sneaking across the border Illegally and living in the shadows.

That isn't true either. Both sides just disagree on the rules.
