Just an FYI since I had a screen shot of the TDPH data from a couple days ago. In the last 2 days we've had over 3,000 new virus cases in Tennessee. The Texas Governor today was blaming young people for the spike in the number of cases there and now the Florida Governor is closing bars and clubs. I'm guessing they're identifying the target locations where much of the spikes in cases are seeming to originate. jmo.

The mask isn't that bad. The strange thing is that it forces a bit of an adjustment to the way you breathe and communicate. A lot of language is apparently in reading lip gestures. Also it fogs my glasses.

Kind of ironic that some of the same people that frequently make the tired claim that others are “soft” also refuse to wear a mask to help minimize the spread to others because of how mcuh of an imposition it is to them.

I'm not reading it that way. Seems they think the imposition is not benefiting others all that much. According to who you believe. I have a low immune system that results in me avoiding crowds when flu and viruses are bad. My doctor said it would not help much just stay home. I understand it makes others feel like they are helping.

Not to scare any one but our Governor DeSantis just shut down all bars and clubs effective immediately in Florida if any of you plan on traveling to our Florida beaches any time soon for vacation or get away. Restaurants not affected by the executive order from the Governor yet but could happen too if this thing doesn't recede somewhat soon and I mean real soon. We have had a dramatic spike of 8000 new cases in just one day yesterday, 6000 and something the day before and 5000 something in a day last week Friday I believe all breaking records for Florida for one day reported cases. I believe Texas Governor Abbott just ordered the same executive action in Texas too as Texas has spiked big time too.

This is so depressing but I guess the only good news is deaths are way down so does show improvement with medical professionals understanding treatments and with a good plan to attack the virus. Most of the new cases in Florida now are young people 18-30 and the average age is down to like 33 yrs old now around there.

I can't wait till they have a vaccine for this and goes away for good so WE all can get back to our normal lives and enjoying ourselves! Me myself am tired of wearing mask everywhere and pouring a gallon of sanitizer on my hands every time I touch anything and hate going to restaurants with no salt and pepper and limited menu. I can't tell you how many small business have unfortunately thrown in the towel and closed for good because of Covid-19. I hate Covid-19!!!!
19 straight days of new record # in cases. Hospitals and ICUs filling up. But the highest gains are in the 18 to 39 yo age group. Deaths havent spiked yet, so we will see.

I really wonder where we would be if we had just bit the bullet and let this virus burn through the population from day one. Disaster? Hospitals overflowing? Or herd immunity and back to our normal lives?
I don't know man. I'm just ready for it to be all over I NEED football

Healthcare providers understand it helps minimize spread to others from coughing, sneezing and talking. How much varies by study. It varies by type of mask. It doesn’t make sense for individuals to try to assess how much it helps and decide if they are willing to comply In an effort to help others IMO. Sounds like you are being prudent. Stay safe.

I was curious. It’s conventional wisdom that Tennessee football fans travel well. I didn’t want to do a whole lot of work to verify that but maybe just check the gator bowl for the last three years. That should give me an anecdotal data point.

2017 Louisville vs Mississippi State featuring Lamar Jackson for the Cardinals
Attendance: 41,310

2018 Texas A&M vs NC State in Jimbo Fisher’s inaugural season with the Aggies
Attendance: 38,206

2019 Tennessee vs Indiana in a season where the Volunteers kicked off their season with a lost to Georgia State
Attendance: 61,789

Because of where I work and my age group, I wear a mask and gloves everywhere I go. It’s amazing to me that more and more people are not wearing a mask. I think the longer this goes on, people are either losing their fear of it, just sick of it or both.
Complacency, as the South Koreans nicely stated it. They are really being active fighting complacency over there. They are taking the "more steam" approach. Hopefully we can put on more steam here as well.

I still think people are going to push back if they go into another shut down

I saw a video the other day from a medical professional that used an O2 bump tester. The normal percentage of oxygen we breathe in is between 20-21%. He placed the tester to the corner of his mouth without the mask...it read 20.6. He puts a mask on and puts the tube in the same corner....it read 17.4.

How is that safe?
