Looters explain their actions
Looters who hit L.A. stores explain what they did: 'Get my portion!'

Here are some really deep thoughts about why looting will lead to change in this country (English grammar corrected obviously):

“We’re doing it because we can”

“We are just trying to provide and take up the opportunity that we are getting right now. That’s all.”

“If Donald Trump is saying shoot us tonight, that is not giving us no leeway," said a teenager holding the stolen Skechers backpack Monday in Van Nuys. "That’s just making things worse. If that’s giving permission for the police to shoot children, innocent teenagers, things like that, that’s not right.”

"Get my portion! Get my portion!" one man shouted as looters hammered and kicked an ATM at Ye Olde King's Head Gift Shoppe.

"The jewelry store!" one looter screamed, announcing the next destination.

"We’re tired of laws being passed while they put drugs and guns in our community.

The looters were mostly young and male, some of them teenagers and a few of them middle-aged. There were some women in the group, which was mostly black and Latino.

Now you know why, when I see you editorializing the contents of some link or making some representation about what you saw elsewhere on the internet, I just assume you’re mistaken or lying.

I think more than enough has been said to explain and justify my opinion. I stand by what I’ve said and see no reason to change my mind with respect to the impetus for clearing the crowd or the appropriateness of how it was done. Maybe next time, start your rebuttal with a sentence that doesn’t mischaracterize the my statement and I’ll bother reading to the end.... But I doubt it.

Mutual distrust is fine with me, and is irrelevant to an objective argument. Stating I take more care than most to reference my assertions, is hardly whining.

That reporter also repeatedly mirrors Barr's account; that the majority are protesting peacefully and that knots of agitators are throwing things at police. You also see in that video people saying "don't throw things" in response to the agitators, to their credit. None of that changes the fact it was more than "a few"people, though a minority. The reporter also notes my "editorializing" stating the police are trying to move the perimeter and that protestors don't want to move, and that "there are people here who want to riot, loot, and destroy". I posted the same Barr quote yesterday in another reply to you.

I think the editorial shoe has fallen on your foot.

From that point on, police use (again) firm and humane tactics to do what has to be done. Which brings us back to the original post I made; this was not done as a photo op, was not a violation of rights, was planned as a reaction to three days of rioting. The exact opposite of the media and some VN poster narratives. I think that addresses every point you made in response to and prior to my post that spurred the thread.

It was ludicrous for media to assert a large mobilization of police and expansion of perimeter was for a photo op. They didn't even bother to first inquire of Barr, which is elementary school journalism. Bahh...orange man bad.

A lot of these people probably do not work or are under 30. To make matters worse, the ones that are laid off are now being paid handsomely by the government to be professional protestors and they go out everyday and just wait on their weekly check from the government.

Are their concerns less valid if they are unemployed? Are their concerns less valid if they are under 30? Not agreeing or disagreeing with them for the purpose of this post, just curious.

No they don't man. Like I said. Every other country except Canada has a much much more harsh law enforcement than the USA. Like I said, do you think cops can take your baby from you here if you served time in prison before it was born? They can in the UK.

If they are employed there concerns disappear. What you are witnessing is mass hysteria, Stockholm syndrome, covid quarantine boredom, virtue signaling, and plain stupidity all wrapped up in one destructive package.
