My buddy does public defense and if the alphabet boys are providing evidence for your charges, it's plea time. Because they have you dead to rights.

The federal government has an advantage in that it doesn’t have to prosecute every single petty ******** case and doesn’t generally have to clap someone in irons while their investigation is ongoing (if it’s necessary, the state often does it first).

It’s another argument in favor of legal reform. State prosecutors spend a ton of time prosecuting homeless people for nonsense charges, which results in them having to work out deals on cases with actual victims. Federal prosecutors don’t have that problem.
