I agree there is a racial aspect probably better described as prejudice. Because prejudice is human nature. I've said it before when you deal with the dregs of society it's easy to project that disturbing call or really horrible person into the next call and you lose/forget what drew you to the job. Combine that with being overworked and the other stresses of the job and if you aren't vigilant ami otherwise decent person can become something else.

Obviously I don't know the guy so I don't know what his beliefs are. But I do believe my statement above is the most likely scenario for most "rogue" officers because you see it in officers of every race.

Floyd has 5 stints in the pen, including forcible invasion into a pregnant woman's home and holding a gun to her stomach while 4-5 other black males ransacked her home. His 'new life' start apparently includes fentanyl. It's unknown what other fresh start activities occupied his time.

Was George still scum, technically? Did he or would he have done something like that again? Don't know. But he's certainly disqualified from being someone to martyr. Regardless of his alleged 'new leaf and new lease' on life, if he'd done that to someone I know, he'd still be a scumbag.

Should he be dead? No, but that has nothing to do with whether he was a crap human being.
