Systemic Racism

marijuana effects people different physiology both in blood and effects on your brain.
Some people get a high and nothing else and it goes away
Some people get paranoid, and those with mental illness, it increases psych related manic episodes and raises homicidal/suicidal thoughts
Some people mix it with other drugs and the effects are worse.

A test will show it's in people's system, but there is no "time" like ETOH or other drugs where you can reasonably assume WHEN they used it.

One of the two reasons that marijuana isn't legal everywhere is because
- it still is a drug that has several side effects that cause harm to people, and is a gateway drug to other drug usage among those with addiction issues
- There is no valid test available like i stated above which gives a "timeline" of its usage, which would have serious effects in DUI/Public Intoxication type issues if it were legal

Gateway drug? Are we using old “drugs are bad” talking points again? People who smoke weed don’t wake up one day and say “hey you know what? I’m gonna shoot some heroin today!” or “man, this weed is good, but I’m going to cook me a batch of meth”. That’s dumb.

And side effects? Lol. The only side affect to smoking weed is getting high. It is almost impossible to OD on, and people don’t start going on murdering sprees once they smoke the devils lettuce. That’s some Reefer Madness ********.

Talk to an actual doctor sometime

Not everyone who uses marijuana is going to be addicted but those with addiction are much more likely to use other drugs. Why do you think 90-95% of people who abuse opioids or other hard drugs also still smoke weed? You simply don’t understand the issue from the medical side

And no one said anything about OD, don’t be dramatic, marijuana has several negative side effects

What is one negative side effect?

I guess they think if you smoke on your own time, you might do it before you come to work and there’s no way to test for that. Again, nobody wants a stoned chemical operator in a plant. Sorry, I don’t make the rules. Them that has the gold makes the rules. That’s the way it is till somebody changes it. If people don’t like it, they don’t have to work there.
Would you be Ok with a stoner operating your chemical plant while high on weed? From a safety standpoint?

FL has been very successful with their diversion programs even with objective from his like Judd. It's a great step to try and prevent the cycle
I don’t know if Florida is still doing this or not but I went to school down in Florida 5th-7th grade. 5th grade was in a rural elementary school just outside of Tampa. 6th and 7th grade were not at a middle school. At that time (somewhere around 1990) they were doing an integration experiment whereby kids from downtown Tampa and in the surrounding suburbs were all sent to the same downtown school. So I went to a school that was just for 6th graders and then the next year a different school just for 7th graders. Those schools were pretty rough and the bus rides were about an hour since I was out in the suburbs. I was too young to understand the impact at the time so I don’t know what became of the program but I can tell you that I was a minority at those schools and, to my recollection, there weren’t issues of racism. There were plenty of other issues with drugs, guns, fights, etc though. Do you know if Florida is still doing something like this?

It has negative effects on your brain, especially in younger people

Smoking it causes cancer

With some people with psych/mental illness issues, it exacerbates their issues and can cause serious manic episodes

For those with addiction tendencies it leads to progression into further drug addiction

Those are the biggest issues

I think those who have addictive personalities are going to get addicted to alot of things and many things will be a gateway for them.

I see your "cant test for current sobriety" comment and can see as a po how that could be an issue but I think there are ways around that.

It's not legal in my opinion simply cause of K street and the big Pharm lobbyist are deep into our politicians pockets.

Both sativas and indicas can be very helpful in certain situations.

For insomnia a good indica like northern lights or 9 pound hammer can help alot and not have any negative side effects a sleeping pill would.

If your naturally an azzhole or type A personality a good sativa like Durban poison can take the edge off and make your tolerable.

If you want to meet God personally and literally become one with the universe have a few rum and cokes and 2 or 3 hits of some Tangie. Cross fading rocks rumor says.

Of course, this is only what I have heard and in states where it's legal lol. *insert legal disclaimer here*

But at no time have I ever been with a group of friends watching a game (not in TN lol) while stone out of our minds and said man we need a line of coke.

More food, yes.

Cocaine no.

Sorry I haven't heard of that one.

Minors can't legally drink alcohol.

Minors shouldn't smoke weed either.

Alcohol is a depressant.

People with psyche issues already got Psyche issues.

Smoking cigarettes causes cancer. Still legal. Weed can be absorbed without smoking it, gummies or drops or edibles.

This is the conversation I had with my kids....

God made weed, man made pharmaceuticals.

I catch u smoking weed or drinking until u are 21 your arse is mine.

You get in an accident or sick and need pain medication I would prefer u smoke a joint instead take some opioids.

But not yet while your brain is developing.

I started a new thread, because I keep asking this question of the "woke" crowd of posters but can't get an answer.

Please give me examples of "systematic racism' that African Americans face that prevent them from succeeding in America. I truly would like to see what the thoughts are on this.

I am also curious as to why this "systematic racism" doesn't affect Asians, Hispanics, Middle-Eastern races the same ways
Here. Go read it. All of it. Then log off Volnation, and try to educate yourself. Try to understand why this isn't about "success" that meets your definition.

I’m saying all of this to say... until you are black in America, you won’t truly understand what it is to be black in america and that’s fine. But don’t act like this doesn’t exist or isn’t real.

It starts with parents being home and taking a active approach in their childhood. Problem is that the moms are working two jobs to make ends meet. Busing has caused kids to go to schools miles away from their homes, mom can’t make it either because of work or because the cost of traveling across the city.

Capitalism has its merits, but it’s also one of the main causes of the issues at hand. It’s a system set up to help the wealthiest and hurt the poorest.

You started off perfectly then trailed off into moms moms moms .. where’s dad ?

To take one of his examples... How do you know whether he was asked to leave because he was dressed inappropriately, or because he was black? How does he know?

Cop pulls me over and is having a bad day. I drive away thinking he is an *******, a black man drives away thinking he is a racist.

I can never understand as a white person. No, you can never understand whether I can understand because you aren't white. Is that really the game we are going to play? Clearly it is. I see this argument ad nauseam.

It leads to absolute nowhere. People don't get to define the truth of our national identity because they think their subjective experience is valued higher because of their skin color.

Perfect example. Thank you.

Regardless of the wisdom of drug use, I think our current drug policy is reasonable by where we put young men in a facility that often subjects them to anal rape and long term psychological trauma, all for putting a naughty substance in their own body. That is the definition of a just legal system.

Maybe the addicts are the pitcher.

Ok but I wasn’t stating a position of if it “should be”legal or not. I was stating the negative reasons health wise that it’s not

No one is in prison just for smoking weed. That’s a myth
