George Floyd Protest/Riots

OMG, why would you think this matters? No one is saying that it happens. It's a hypothetical used to illustrate a point and it's a perfectly valid form of discourse.
No because one side states the other pointing out "of course they do because all lives matter" is racist.

So impressed with Gen. Mattis (Ret), who we haven’t heard a peep out of until now, being an opportunistic little vulture and using the current state of affairs as a platform to further his beef with his old boss. Gotta love those disgruntled ex employees.

We can come through this trying time stronger, and with a renewed sense of purpose and respect for one another. The pandemic has shown us that it is not only our troops who are willing to offer the ultimate sacrifice for the safety of the community. Americans in hospitals, grocery stores, post offices, and elsewhere have put their lives on the line in order to serve their fellow citizens and their country. We know that we are better than the abuse of executive authority that we witnessed in Lafayette Square. We must reject and hold accountable those in office who would make a mockery of our Constitution. At the same time, we must remember Lincoln’s “better angels,” and listen to them, as we work to unite.

I'm more than happy to put out the fire occurring at the house on the right, but I really wish that its owners would take some accountability for its structural integrity and stop building it out of flammable material.

You wany me to follow your bread crumbs like a low rent Qanon?

Nah. I'm good.
Why am I not surprised? Oh wait, yeah, you already know that BS you’ve said all day is MSM lies. Always the same old tired, wore out argument with you. Something about Hillary or Qanon. Lulz, Carry on the charade bro, just donate a buck in my name.

OK. Which would you do first: lecture them on structural integrity or put out the damn fire?

With 72% of the population, they have the most everything, except for reasons to whine about being undervalued
What % of the population are African Americans? They make up over half of the homicide offenders in the U.S. and 60% of the robbery offenders. Of the run ins with the law, theyre less likely to be killed by police

Sounds like a bigger problem. There’s another reason all these black people have so many negative interactions with law enforcement.

As much as I’d love to value the opinion of a middle aged white man living in suburbia when he says that systemic issues don’t exist, they most certainly do.

It's funny you use an analogy of burning buildings.

Hey

How is it appropriate to press the narrative that racist police are murdering black men across the country when 9(of 36 all races) unarmed black men were killed by police in all of 2019?

The statistics don't back up African Americans being hunted by police. In fact tragedies like the one that happened in Minneapolis are very, very rare. In fact unarmed citizens like George are not killed at a rate significantly higher than any other race. Facts back this up. But keep up with the false narrative at the expense of other lives, property and livelihoods if you feel the need to enable.

Oh, we're putting out the fire and we've had far fewer calls to the fire department about that residence over the past few years (progress!). Yet, somehow, the owners still won't acknowledge that a lot of these fires (devastating as they are) stem from the house using straw instead of cement and the unnecessary glassblowing studio in its living room.

It’s a method of shouting down a movement, much like showing up at a breast cancer walk and shouting over them “ALL CANCERS MATTER”
Good analogy because those are dumb too. Who isn’t “aware” of cancer and how horrible it is?

I think "the narrative" of BLM is much broader than "the raw number of unarmed black men killed by police in 2019", but much like the mischaracterization of "only Black Lives Matter", that kind of reductionism is a common tactic
