Do you know about the first amendment? I have the right to free speech and assembly. You have no problem with those rights being limited because other people are looting. Arrest the looters. Let me exercise my rights. But Justin you just keep on being blind to how large of a hypocrite you are. You keep on being a commie, pinko, socialist, anti American, authoritarian sheep. If you choose safety over freedom you deserve neither.

I’ll wait and let her respond before judging, but I watched it again after I read her post and I still don’t see anything being thrown at police before or after the mayhem starts.

The issue with your argument is the protestors are participating in the looting and destruction. I've seen some videos where protestors have done an excellent job of policing themselves. I've seen others where it has devolved into chaos. When that happens the policing forces have a duty to disperse the crowd.

That is the key prepositional phrase. There is no need and no constitutional authority to break up peaceful assemblies.

The people who go from protesting to looting are looters and should be arrested. Just like the person who is armed has done nothing wrong until they use the gun in an illegal manner. There are plenty of people who are out there solely protesting. Man we scare easy as a people.

At about 4:00 you can see Barr come down. He apparently gave the order so unsure if it happened then or not. But the first time I notice officers holding batons was shortly afterwards. Up to that point I saw a bunch of pointing, rude hand gestures, and two objects, maybe water bottles, on the ground in between that had been there the whole time.

At maybe 20-25:00 the officers move up and eventually get to the fence. Nothing thrown and no new objects on the ground at that point.

From 25-30:00 most people are on their knees with their hands raised. The few people still standing are agitated but I didn’t see anything thrown.

At 30:00 they start getting gassed and hit with sticks.

The only evidence I saw of anything being thrown was the debris on the ground that was there at the start of the video.

I'm not afraid of the protests, I'm just not sure you understand the levity of some of the stations on the ground in places like Minneapolis. Large sections of the city look like war zones. If that doesn't scare you then I'm not sure what to say. Chaos and anarchy can't be allowed, protests are protected and there is a clear distinction.

My wife and her sister went to a peaceful rally (that's the tone it was held in) for Ahmaud Arbery a couple of weeks or so ago. I posted about it here. I was there, on duty, to give them room to gather peacefully and without being bothered. Not one problem.

As of today, the tone has changed, both nationwide and locally. Those of us with tactical / riot control training and experience are basically on call 24/7, and have been told to be able to go 10-8 within 15 minutes of receiving a call-out.

So here I sit at my regular job, on pins and needles hoping "today ain't the day".

This will end. My fear is that it won't end well.
