Yes, I’ve lived through all the riots since the 60’s. There has been no leadership to cease these Events from occurring . Politicians looking to be re-elected (LBJ) enacted legislation that was mis directed to offer a helping hand in a manner that turned out to be enabling rather than helpful. You think it’s better right now? . I don’t. Starting with Rodney King it just got quieter. Quieter has not been better it’s just more intense festering underneath. More legislation helped minorities become first time house buyers to the criticism of white America Structured violence against blacks finally got news print as opposed to earlier black men who were dragged off to their death behind pick up trucks never to be seen or heard of again. But until white Americans decide they have to be part of the solution there will be no solution. Unarmed black men will continue to have their lives snuffed out by rogue cops
Politicians will continue to be part of the problem and not Part of the solution. William Barr will continue to enable Trump by dispersing legally demonstrating folks so Trump could first threaten to sic the military on Americans in their own states ( an illegal act). The demonstrators were hit with tear gas and rubber bullets so Trump could have his picture tsken holding a Bible in front of the “Presidents” church
And those “plants” you proudly show with a pix and imply they are not? You have no facts whether they are or are not, IMO. Your citing your opinion based on your historical observation. My reference to plants was the example of the two white female attorney’s one of whom has been arrested 11 times now for attending these events using a peaceful demonstrator As a shield and while standing behind them and throwing stuff at the cops
The cops know this. But, You’ll never see it discussed by Hannity or Limbaugh or reported by Brietbart, Fox New, the Washington Examiner the NY Post
As Vince Lombardi said .... if you’re not part of the solution - you’re part of the problem
Well, if they are all plants like you suggest, it should be really easy for an investigative reporter or two to identify them and find out who is "planting" them. I must have missed that headline news story about those thousands of "plants" discovered at the scene of this violence and destruction.
You don't understand how ridiculous you sound when there are thousands of examples with thousands of "plants" trashing/stealing stuff/assaulting people? There may be some who are organizing some of these demonstrations, of that I have no doubt. During the 60's I went to attend a Anti-War demonstration but I quickly removed myself from that mess when it became apparent that the organizers were proudly displaying their affiliation with the Communist Party. See ya!
During the 60's, IIRC, there were "whites only" signs posted, there were many institutionalized segregationist policies including access to education and voting, there were virtually no elected black politicians, there were fewer black celebrities (actors, writers, athletes), roles played by black actors were mostly type cast, mixed marriages were considered unacceptable by many, racial stereotypes were propagated/tolerated etc. etc. Police violence in those days was accepted and tolerated because the general public was willfully blind to it. The riots then were violently managed by the police (Democrat National Convention, 1968 for example). I believe in my heart that it was much worse then than it is now. The fact that it still exists is a blight on the profession and on our spirit. The only good thing about that mess in the 60's were the leaders in the black community and the good people of all races who stepped up and put themselves on the line to mandate needed change. The assassinations of 1968 of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Bobby Kennedy are still a raw spot in my memory.
The stuff that occurs after dark in the name of demonstrating is as big of a blight on this country's soul as is the appalling treatment of George Floyd by Ofc. Chauvin. People have died from this violence and more will too if this keeps up and escalates.
It will not solve the issues that are the reason/excuse for these violent "protests" at all but only will serve to further divide. It is not part of the solution so according to Vince, it's part of the problem.
