George Floyd Protest/Riots

watch the language here, but this may be the best thing you see all day

Don't know if Trump inciting racial hatred or violence, but, good.

Communicate, say what you got to say, stay civil, understand talking and trying to see eye to eye, and accept we need to do that, and work at it, no matter any differences, or, we are going to end up killing each other.

That is sane and respectful banter, and good to all there to talk and stay polite and decent.

There’s nothing strange about it. It’s an American landmark, that got burned, so trump showed up to show strength. Literally every president in my lifetime has done something like that. But no, because it’s Trump, a church, and the left doesn’t understand history we have to go through this. This is literally the stupidest story in the news cycle right now.

He showed up to show "strength" after spending the night in his bunker surrounded by doorkickers with better sht to do, after gassing and wailing on a bunch of "soy boys". This, after he probably scarfed down a couple of Big Mac's and tweeting about everything being unfair.

"Strength", lol - he's the thinnest skinned snowflake in the land.

Because it's Trump, and we know a thing or two about his character, it comes across as being sanctimonious. It just looks phony... unless you really do believe that Trump reads The Holy Bible? In which case, you are quite gullible.
I know your whole world view won’t let you see past religion. It has nothing to do with Christianity, which we all know that’s why this is a big story. It is an historic landmark. I’m not Christian, so I’m not going to tell Christians how to feel (this line of thinking should line up with yours, but since you’re a lefty we know you treat certain groups differently), but nobody should have a problem with a president going to an American historic landmark after it has burned. Doesn’t matter if it’s a religious building or not.

Have any of our members participated in a Floyd protest, if so what was your experience?

I watched the one in Gallatin yesterday and it managed to stay peaceful.

You consisently conflate facts while you attempt to present yourself as someone knowledgeable of political ideologies.
The following is a quick distinction between fascism and socialism:

Fascism opposed the egalitarian and international character of mainstream socialism, but sometimes sought to establish itself as an alternative "national" socialism. It strongly opposed liberalism, communism, anarchism, and democratic socialism.

Antifa cannot be fascist, anarchist, communist and socialist all at the same time. Pick your label and stick with it.

Apparently I can't make it easy enough for some.

Socialism is egalitarian in evenly distributing misery. The commandeering or outright theft of private property (production) to be used for the benefit of the citizens is a fascist/socialist cornerstone. Fascist and socialist leaders are inherently atheistic and suppress religion when unable to use it for political advantage. While all welfare states aren't necessarily socialist or fascist, all socialist and fascist states are welfare states. Socialist & fascist leaders have all stated governing philosophy similar to Mussolini's "All within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state". Both depend upon large public works projects and the vast welfare state to sell the idea.

Gee, doesn't sound that right-wingy to me.

To recap, socialism is the larval stage of communism, which is a form of anarchism. Fascism is national socialism. See the red, capital 'A' symbolism common among Antifa, pajama ninjas? It's for anarchy.
And assholes.

And: "Many modern Antifa groups have adopted variants of the aesthetics of the original Antifa movement of 1932–1933; most use a modified variant of its logo, originally designed by Max Gebhard and Max Keilson for the Communist Party of Germany. Sometimes the name of the historical organisation is also included on banners and other imagery, although it does not form an extant organisation. While the original logo of Antifaschistische Aktion featured two red flags representing communism and socialism, modern Antifa logos since the 1980s usually feature a black flag representing anarchism and autonomism in addition to the red flag.

The modern Antifa logo is based on the logo of the historical first incarnation, but in contrast to the original logo with two red flags that represented communism and socialism, a black flag representing anarchism and autonomism was added in the 1980s" Antifa Symbol

IOW, you've no idea what you're talking about.

WATCH: Protesters Interviewed: We’re Stealing Because It’s ‘Slavery Money’; ‘We Should Kill Them’ Police ‘B****es’; ‘If Anybody’s A Thief, It’s America’

In a video posted Monday, documentary filmmaker Ami Horowitz went to the heart of the violent rioting in Minneapolis and spoke to the protesters.

“The media narrative has been that the protesters and the violence are distinct,” Horowitz prefaced the video, “but the vast majority of protesters that I spoke to, went out of their way to justify, in a non-socially distanced way, the anarchic orgy of violence.”

I would certainly agree with the part I put in bold. It's brandishing the bible, as if it's proof of moral superiority, that is so bizarre. What message was he trying to convey? It's easy to perceive a holier-than-thou pretense at work.

Yes, I’ve lived through all the riots since the 60’s. There has been no leadership to cease these Events from occurring . Politicians looking to be re-elected (LBJ) enacted legislation that was mis directed to offer a helping hand in a manner that turned out to be enabling rather than helpful. You think it’s better right now? . I don’t. Starting with Rodney King it just got quieter. Quieter has not been better it’s just more intense festering underneath. More legislation helped minorities become first time house buyers to the criticism of white America Structured violence against blacks finally got news print as opposed to earlier black men who were dragged off to their death behind pick up trucks never to be seen or heard of again. But until white Americans decide they have to be part of the solution there will be no solution. Unarmed black men will continue to have their lives snuffed out by rogue cops

Politicians will continue to be part of the problem and not Part of the solution. William Barr will continue to enable Trump by dispersing legally demonstrating folks so Trump could first threaten to sic the military on Americans in their own states ( an illegal act). The demonstrators were hit with tear gas and rubber bullets so Trump could have his picture tsken holding a Bible in front of the “Presidents” church

And those “plants” you proudly show with a pix and imply they are not? You have no facts whether they are or are not, IMO. Your citing your opinion based on your historical observation. My reference to plants was the example of the two white female attorney’s one of whom has been arrested 11 times now for attending these events using a peaceful demonstrator As a shield and while standing behind them and throwing stuff at the cops

The cops know this. But, You’ll never see it discussed by Hannity or Limbaugh or reported by Brietbart, Fox New, the Washington Examiner the NY Post

As Vince Lombardi said .... if you’re not part of the solution - you’re part of the problem
Well, if they are all plants like you suggest, it should be really easy for an investigative reporter or two to identify them and find out who is "planting" them. I must have missed that headline news story about those thousands of "plants" discovered at the scene of this violence and destruction.

You don't understand how ridiculous you sound when there are thousands of examples with thousands of "plants" trashing/stealing stuff/assaulting people? There may be some who are organizing some of these demonstrations, of that I have no doubt. During the 60's I went to attend a Anti-War demonstration but I quickly removed myself from that mess when it became apparent that the organizers were proudly displaying their affiliation with the Communist Party. See ya!

During the 60's, IIRC, there were "whites only" signs posted, there were many institutionalized segregationist policies including access to education and voting, there were virtually no elected black politicians, there were fewer black celebrities (actors, writers, athletes), roles played by black actors were mostly type cast, mixed marriages were considered unacceptable by many, racial stereotypes were propagated/tolerated etc. etc. Police violence in those days was accepted and tolerated because the general public was willfully blind to it. The riots then were violently managed by the police (Democrat National Convention, 1968 for example). I believe in my heart that it was much worse then than it is now. The fact that it still exists is a blight on the profession and on our spirit. The only good thing about that mess in the 60's were the leaders in the black community and the good people of all races who stepped up and put themselves on the line to mandate needed change. The assassinations of 1968 of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Bobby Kennedy are still a raw spot in my memory.

The stuff that occurs after dark in the name of demonstrating is as big of a blight on this country's soul as is the appalling treatment of George Floyd by Ofc. Chauvin. People have died from this violence and more will too if this keeps up and escalates.

It will not solve the issues that are the reason/excuse for these violent "protests" at all but only will serve to further divide. It is not part of the solution so according to Vince, it's part of the problem.

Some conservatives on VN keep obsessing about Antifa. They are the ones who can't shut up about them.

Why would you stop talking about a group trying to tear down the country ? Especially when you see it on tv and videos every single day . Oh look an 800 pound gorilla , everybody stop talking about it , yes I know he’s eating chairs and killing people but ...shhhhh

I bet you are one of the people on here who doesn't want anyone, including the Gov't, touching your 2A "rights", but at the same time you have no issue with them stomping on people's 1A rights. You people do see the hypocrisy here, right?

Don’t throw rocks from your glass house. I guarantee that if we look in the Coronavirus thread you were outraged by the protest in Michigan and blindly supported the unconstitutional government lockdown.

Every citizen has the protected right to peacefully assemble.
