George Floyd Protest/Riots

And nobody at Rolex had the thought beforehand that it might be a good idea to put the inventory in the vault? No inventory in plain sight tends to discourage looting.

This is highly interesting to me. This boutique hasn't seen any foot traffic for months at this point, and general practice for a luxury jewelery/timepiece store would be to vault the inventory at the end of every general day of business.

Simply put, there's absolutely no way that this boutique just had watches sitting in the cases for 2+ months and certainly not after watching footage of Minneapolis/Chicago. Clothing boutiques are a little different and absolutely have been looted of their wares directly off of the floor, but the looters either breached the safe or the police (who clearly could not have spoken to the store's owner, which isn't actually Rolex since they only operate in a wholesale capacity, in time) are mistaken and just attributed a monetary value to an empty shop... I'd go with the latter.

Gov data, a few years old:
Deaths Due to Use of Lethal Force by Law Enforcement: Findings From the National Violent Death Reporting System, 17 U.S. States, 2009–2012

Easier to read data:
People shot to death by U.S. police, by race 2020 | Statista

Mapped out, helpful when scoping out new areas to move to and which ones to avoid:
Mapping Police Violence

And another good study which talks about how police training interacts with bad neighborhoods and how visual cues can be triggers to varying people:
https://scholarship.law.columbia.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=3660&context=faculty_scholarship

TL:DR. More White people are killed by cops by a large margin, but black deaths are "over represented" due to a combination of extreme poverty which creates rampant crime with a few dashes of possible racism.

Thanks for the info. I gotta run out for awhile, but I will try to take a look at it later. Much appreciated.

He’s a cop in a lab coat. He seems to become an expert on all manner of things like psychology and blood splatter depending on what the state needs for a conviction. In the case where timing of drug use was an issue it was to the state’s advantage to not know so possible he made that up, but it’s consistent with TBI testimony in numerous DUI cases involving drug levels and blood samples from living humans.
He made it up. It can be determined with most drugs metabolism rates being know. I used to have long conversations with our county coroner who was a doctor for 40 years.

Do you remember the coroner from Knox county 25 years or more ago? I think his name was Pedigo. He liked to drug young men and take nude pictures of them. Don't be surprised if the general public doesn't just jump on board and agree with what the county medical examiner decided.

I guess that answer belongs to the citizens of those cities and states being impacted.

Think about what you are wanting to happen. If Trump does send in fed troops what's going to stop the next POTUS from doing the same even when there has been no violence?
The citizens know they will be prosecuted or beat to death in most cases if the fight back.

Would be even better if the police (Derek Chauvin) hadn't killed George Floyd.

True, and Chauvin should go to prison. But now this whole thing is no longer about Floyd. It’s about opportunists taking advantage of the current situation and totally takes away from a legitimate protest.
