George Floyd Protest/Riots

Trump declares martial law and send in fed troops, they kill a bunch of civilians, who gets the blame? Who gets prosecuted by Biden's AG, the soldiers who were not trained for these missions and never signed up for them.[/QUOTE]

.
President Trump will be reelected and the Democrats are already preparing for that eventuality. I would be for William Barr convicting the leaders of Antifa and sending them to Guantanamo Bay as dangerous domestic terrorists.

Very well could happen but let me paint you a picture.

Trump declares martial law and send in fed troops, they kill a bunch of civilians, who gets the blame? Who gets prosecuted by Biden's AG, the soldiers who were not trained for these missions and never signed up for them.

From my understanding there are 37K MP's, although I am unsure where they are deployed around the world and mission set. Also, active duty would be as or more prepared than the NG.

I am unsure of how many cities would require reinforcement, but mostly the ones that do not have control of their cities. Every city is not going to have troop carriers rolling.

So far, the police have been unable to stop this. Now it's likely possible they have been given stand down orders by their liberal mayors.

It seems to be getting worse police are being targeted by people driving cars/trucks into them and over a half dozen were shot last night. It looks like with each night this is going on these terrorists are getting bolder in their actions.

It looks like it's only a matter of time before they start going after innocent civilians by doing home invasions. If that happens things will go from bad to worse as we'll start seeing assaults, sexual assaults and murder as people try and fight back.

Save the fear mongering for a less educated crowd.

Does anyone have data on police shootings? Demographics, geographic locations, etc...? I am trying to find the information elsewhere but if it has been reported here and someone can point me to it, much appreciated. This thread moves fast and I may have missed it.

Rumor is trump will deploy us troops in cities. He will also force residents to house and feed these troops while there. Said it's only fair they share the burden. He's pretty sure there are no rules against it that he's aware of

(Preemptive post)

There was a study that was cited early in the thread about police use of force, fatalities etc with POC.

If things devolve to the fifth level of hell they will be allowed to do what they have to do. In the case of a street war i would have no problem with Soldiers shooting down paid rioters firing at them in the streets.
Was this a serious post? You honestly don't see any problem with members of the American armed forces killing American citizens? What you are describing sounds like Tiananmen Square from 1989... not the United States. That would be a sad scene, don't you think? Your posts have a cartoonish quality. Archie Bunker meets American Dad.

If they do the media will probably label them racists.

If someone wants to protest, fine, go for it...but do you really think it'll accomplish anything? Here's a simple question: A year from now, what will these protests have accomplished? Please, give me a list.

Here's what will happen regardless of the protests:

1) Quite a few of those Minnesota cops will spend a lot of time in jail
2) The family of George Floyd will be millionaires many times over
3) Many places will talk of better training for cops

Does anyone think it was training that caused this cop to put George Floyd to death with his knee?

They needed to be fired. The amount of force was totally excessive. They’re part of the problem.

Agreed. Anybody thinking that law enforcement entities across the country haven’t been infiltrated by bad actors with a specific agenda is, at this point and time, naive or purposefully obtuse. This is larger than, and predates, current/recent events.

Also don't forget millions in tax payers dollars will be spent to fix the damage

Gov data, a few years old:
Deaths Due to Use of Lethal Force by Law Enforcement: Findings From the National Violent Death Reporting System, 17 U.S. States, 2009–2012

Easier to read data:
People shot to death by U.S. police, by race 2020 | Statista

Mapped out, helpful when scoping out new areas to move to and which ones to avoid:
Mapping Police Violence

And another good study which talks about how police training interacts with bad neighborhoods and how visual cues can be triggers to varying people:
https://scholarship.law.columbia.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=3660&context=faculty_scholarship

TL/DR. More White people are killed by cops by a large margin, but black deaths are "over represented" due to a combination of extreme poverty which creates rampant crime with a few dashes of possible racism.

Blacks have a higher chance of dying of Septicemia, or drowning, or being killed by a hippo, than dying by cop.
