George Floyd Protest/Riots

A New York woman has been charged with four counts of attempted murder after throwing a molotov cocktail at an NYPD van occupied by multiple police officers.

Samantha Shader, 27, of Catskill, additionally faces charges for attempted arson, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, and assault, WABC reported. The device reportedly didn't explode and all four officers inside were able to escape.

She's regretting that bold act by now. If found guilty, hope she gets 10 years in Max Security Prison.

That isn't always true when it comes to poorly trained officers, as appears to be the case with Derek Chauvin. You are trying to grossly over-simplify the matter. There is also a matter of proportionality to consider. Is passing a counterfeit $20 bill to buy cigarettes at a convenience store, a crime that should ever lead to a person's death? The surveillance footage does not support the officer's claims that George Floyd resisted his arrest. Why was this arresting officer, Derek Chauvin, so physically aggressive with Floyd, even after Floyd was on the ground? Would he have felt this threatened by a white 46 year old man who was lying flat on his stomach? I have my doubts about that. Derek Chauvin will get his day in court and have a chance to defend himself against the charges which have been filed against him. That is more of an opportunity than George Floyd will ever get.
The now ex-cop is fired and charged. Nobody is supporting what he did. That should be the end of it. The statistics just don't bear out there being a bunch of Chauvin's entrenched in police departments across this country. Again, most of the people who meet with violent ends at the hands of the police bring it on themselves. Some groups want to cherry pick a few isolated incidents and act like its an epidemic. I know it feels nice and cozy to be wrapped in the cocoon of victimhood where people don't have to face up to their own role in determining the circumstances of their lives but it's not reality. There is no grand conspiracy against ethnic minorities in this country. Young people in particular need to accept so they can fully enjoy the opportunities that citizenship in this country affords. Or they can be bitter victims and set some stuff on fire once a decade.

Protesters aren’t thugs , thugs are thugs Your actions dictate what you are . Everyone knows the difference and it has zero to do with skin color .
Wrong, it has everything to do with skin color. If George Floyd was white and the 4 guys involved were black, then the 4 men would have been charged the same day.

Chauvin is getting what he deserves according to what our laws decide. Would you prefer a lynching?

Do you have a problem with the law, counselor?
My issue is with how long it took for him to be charged and that the other 3 cops who just stood there and took no action haven't been charged. If they were black, they would have already been charged.

Not necessarily and that's an unprovable accusation. Who's fault would that be? The Mayor, Police Chief, Governor, AG?

I had a few errands on my list yesterday. Publix, WalMart, Academy Sports, and a couple others. Saw a lot of people, many with varying melanin levels. Zero animosity on display. Even saw a few cops and they weren't beating or killing anyone. Guess it was my lucky day.
Guess so. Also guessing that you don't associate with a lot of people who don't look like you.

Overwhelming? The other officers who stood by and did nothing to stop it haven't been charged.
What are you going to charge them with? As an accessory? That conviction wont happen. At all. It can be reasonably stated that they assumed their coworker let up or wasnt putting deadly pressure on. If the autopsies reveal he didnt technically die of asphyxiation then you have an even harder time convincing a grand jury to move forward.

You at least seek culpability. If it's so obvious that these charges won't stick, you offer up a pound of flesh to satiate the mobs for now.

How is that just though? A sacrificial lamb is another unjust action. They were fired and rightfully so. They spent their schooling and training in law enforcement and theyll never get a job in it ever again. Hard to justify a charge for the sake of sacrifice. imo. I understand the anger toward the other three. I am also upset that they didnt perform their job at the level they should.

Unless you start charging LEOs who refuse to take action when someone is being murdered (by another cop), then nothing will every change.
You're avoiding an answer. Is it because the mayor and governor are democrats or that the chief and Ag are black?
