Mike Leach (Texas Tech)

After defending CPF here last season and leading into this year, I can tell you exactly what causes the sharp and ardent emotions.... he loses too many football games. It's not complicated to understand.

I agree. However unrealistic it may be, a lot of Vols fans want to see an immediate resurgence back to a dominant football team. Mike Leach just doesn't appear to be able to fulfill that desire, be it because of his overall record, quirkiness, etc.

Wrong again. Hat would still be here two years later when Leach and Hamilton are gone.

OMG!!! That's got to be the saddest thing I've ever seen posted on here!

Are you actually Hat's little brother or something? Do you have a Hat doll...Hat poster...Hat concert tee?

Stalker!

Hat's a big boy with most of the time good opinions and can post for himself. He's a sports fan that posts on a message board. Find yourself a new hero, this is not healthy. :ermm:

So, you defended Coach Fulmer for some time after 2005?

You must have been an ardent supporter.
And brave.

And creative.

And ultimately, quite lonely.

You raised an interesting point - I wonder what the correlation might be between those who defended Coach Fulmer's tenure, and those who are opposed to Leach.

Maybe the contrast is too great for some?

Maybe the best question isn't "Leach - Yes" or "Leach - No" - but, "status quo" versus "wholly different"?

The thing that I love is how many teams have expressed interest in obtaining Leach? I've only heard interest from UT. OTOH, pretty much all the schools are showing interest in Kiffin.

I disagree.

Of the three main jobs that are either currently open, or soon will be - Washington, Clemson, Tennessee and Syracuse - I've heard Leach's name associated with all but one, and that was Syracuse.

Google his name with each school and see the prolific amount of information out there. After doing so, you'll see it's clear that the implied argument you're making - "Tennessee is the only school dumb enough to really be considering him" - doesn't hold water.

Funny. Never been called Hat's little brother before. I think I'm on his ignore list, in fact.

Ever consider the possibility that two different people could recognize the stupidity of your posts supporting a 3 or 4 season loser over the past 8 years at the same school? More than one person can see that this year is Leach's only decent year.

The guy frequents the meaningless bowls game and this year is his first ever sniff at a BCS bowl. He's a loser... plain and simple.

Avg season winning percentage prior to this is 64%.

CPF was much easier to defend than your pirate lover is.

Here's the answer TD (you should've been able to glean this out of the posts in the past couple of days) Leach hasn't won anything yet, his offense is prolific but we don't know about his defense, there are several head coaches in the SEC to contend with and if Mike Hamilton believes in his total scheme your boy can come to the Hill. In other words, it ain't up to us in the Volnation who is the next football coach at Tennessee. We're awaiting the decision.

I wholeheartedly agree, we are not the decision-makers, and likely, won't even have much of a voice in the hire, if at all.

We should be the first voice considered - for however many millions the influential boosters have, they can't fill in 108K seats.

Obviously, we're not considered, but what does THAT say about this program that we all love and are so devoted to?

Not a comfortable question to ask ourselves, but a fair one, I think.

My wife's a pirate! How awesome is that?!?! This explains everything!

Glad thats working out for ya!...I see where your Leach support comes from!!

She doesn't work....must be nice.

I'm still woefully hoping for Gruden or BD....but I like that weirdo in Texas. Seems to have been successful everywhere he's been....so why not give him a shot if the other two say no.

Cowher would be another outside hopeful I'd put above him.

and we only need one of them in the great state of Tennessee. As a country music fan and someone who wants to see UT be consistently good again, I vote we keep Vince here.

If Vince can score 50+ points per game - i'm right there with you.

However, we need to instead focus on his hobbies, dress habits, and other items of his personality - maybe we don't want Vince running our team, even if we could put up those offensive numbers. Heck, Vince Gil doesn't dress a thing like Bill Monroe, so maybe we shouldn't let him represent our state as a member of the Opry?!
While you guys are looking into his personal traits, can someone rustle me up some other pictures?
I'd like one of Coach Fulmer clapping his hands on the sideline. Or saying "dadgummit". Or one of the scoreboard from the UCLA game.

Or Florida.

Or Auburn.

Or Georgia.

Or Alabama.

Or South Carolina.

Or Wyoming.

If not too much trouble, could you also get me a couple of shots of the upper deck at all of the home games this season, too? Better make sure that it was before halftime, or it'll just be shots of empty seats. Don't get the lower section - I don't want to see all of that crimson and white.

Lastly, could you rustle me up a picture of Coach Fulmer sitting at that desk, being forced to resign?

Poster size, preferably.

I want to frame it with the title, "Status Quo".

Thanks in advance!

People are going to have to realize that comparing a candidate to Fulmer does nothing to help that candidate's image.
