The Last Dance - A 10-PART DOCUMENTARY EVENT

Damn damn screw Jerry. MJ is right. Everybody would have probably taken a one year deal to win 7.
Whether they would or wouldn't, announcing the breakup a year in advance was pure ego. Who wins 6 titles and then announces in advance that the coach is gone after next year?

Rodman did the suck it motion at the end of game 6. Always playing the character. Sign of a good wrestler.
At one point during the Finals, Rodman and Malone got tangled up and Malone made the DDP sign at him.

I am behind you guys, but looks they are skipping over his insulting the Mormons and then bawling in his TV interview trying to clear the air

Totally forgot about this. Phil trying help explain Rodman's comments and he insulted the Mormons worse than Rodman did, LOL.

``To Dennis, a Mormon may just be a nickname for people from Utah. He may not even know it’s a religious cult or sect or whatever it is,″ Bulls coach Phil Jackson said Thursday.

Rodman fined $50,000; says he's sorry for Mormon comments

On McAfee's podcast one of the guys said Jordan's trainer said in an interview that MJ spit on that pizza so nobody else would eat any. Talk about karma.

Some fun stats from Jordan's last 3 Finals series-clinching games:

1996 game 6 = Jordan shot 5/19. The Bulls held the Sonics to 43% and outrebounded them by 16.
1997 game 6 = Jordan missed 20 shots (15/35). The Bulls held the Jazz to 40% shooting and outrebounded them by 14.
1998 game 6 = Jordan missed 20 shots (15/35). His teammates shot 19/32 and the Bulls outrebounded the Jazz by 14.

Simmons making a pretty convincing case that Bulls could not have won the '99 title. Rodman was washing out and there were no FA's available to adequately replace him. Even if there were, they were going to have to pay Pippen bank, so what's left over for a PF? The '99 season was shortened, requiring 50 games in 3 months which was a death sentence to older teams.

All that being said, you still bring back Phil and MJ because you would make $

I heard that today. It would have been an easy reload for two more titles though.

Doesn't seem likely. '99 Free agency wasn't great either. Vin Baker signed for huge $ and sucked. So did Penny and then he got hurt. Old Malone and old Mitch Richmond were the other 2 big FA's. Eric Snow, Charles Oakley, Derek Fisher, and Nick Van Exel were the next tier. I don't see how you can build around a 37+ YO MJ and make a better team than the Lakers dynasty. Even if they could afford Malone (and Pippen) and they could get him to leave Utah, I doubt they would be better than the Lakers. Pippen was pretty washed by 2000.
