Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Ok, I understand that you hate the media, got it. My question is what’s the basis for this video and what does it prove? I’m genuinely asking.
He is pissed at the guy for writing a piece bashing him for having a match. It proves that more and more people are tired of and speaking out against a worthless media

So basically, you’re saying the antibody tests can’t be trusted because we aren’t testing everyone. Maybe that’s an oversimplification but that’s what I’m getting out of it. I understand your perspective but you asked a question so let me answer it. I’d say I don’t think there will be a second wave due to a little bit of both of your scenarios. I do think it has been here a while so more people have already had it than we know and of the ones that will get it a good chunk will be asymptomatic or have very minor symptoms. I believe we’ve seen the worst of it.

I'm not trying to say the antibody results can't be trusted because they aren't testing everyone. I do think we have to be very careful taking antibody tests as gospel for that reason (was the group selected truly randomly) - and also because some antibody tests just aren't very good.

But, even if we accept them, they don't say to me that the risk of a second wave is gone. In New York, perhaps. It depends on what level is really needed for herd immunity. Originally you were hearing a lot of 60-70% numbers. But now, I've seen estimates as low as 40% (I think that might be based on the idea some people aren't spreaders but do get immunity). If it is as low as 40%, then NYC has seen the worst, because it seems their AB levels are approaching 30% or more. This is really the part I'm most hopeful for - that it will take a much smaller percentage than we realize to get this herd immunity level.

But, for places like Tennessee, it doesn't seem like more than 5% or so of the people have antibodies - at least based on testing I've seen for other areas of similar size/population density. If you have seen numbers that are higher than that for TN, I'd be interested (and also interested in the test used and how the population was chosen).

As long as the susceptible population is significantly higher than that needed for herd immunity, then epidemic conditions are still possible - meaning additional waves. The things that hold it back are mitigation (quarantine) and things like transmission rate (which could be affected by temperature, for example). More of a when than a if once these viruses get rooted in a community and you aren't at that herd immunity level yet (either through vaccines or natural immunity). Thus the dance part of hammer and dance.

You can save yourself a lot of money by just going out and catching fish “ bait” from the creek . 🤮

Edit : I’ve tried really hard to like it . I’ve had it from coast to coast , I just can’t .

When I was flying to Japan, before the flight back I would go to the grocery store when they put out the fresh sushi for the day. This was better than any you can buy at a restaurant here in the USA. I miss Japan....

So we should take the leader of the state with the city that possibly has the highest death rate in the world and have them lecture everyone else on how to handle the CV crisis?

The same leader that put in policies that directly effected the most at risk demographic? The same leader that didn't shut down his subway systems till they were well into the crisis?

I say we have them teach them because he would show them exactly what not to do.

It goes to show though really how either ignorant or brainwashed the people of New York are though. I heard the other day that Cuomo had like an 80%+ approval rating on his handling of this crisis.
Can you imagine if Trump was governor of NY State? Based on the half-assed way he handled things as President, there would be at least 250k COVID deaths by now.

Worked with the states to get PPEs, not tout ineffective meds, not rouse people to riot and generally kept my DA mouth shut.
I agree, he talks to much. In terms of PPE, China hid the virus while it hoarded ppe so there wasn't much that anyone could have done there. Touting meds to give people hope is ok, especially with all the uncertainty early on and all he said was it was looking good not hey go take this.

I understand the argument that some deaths were very near happening without COVID or were completely unrelated (homicide, car accident, etc.). However, I'm not sure I really care about "Pure" CV deaths if "pure" means you have no underlying medical conditions. High blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, etc. aren't going to take folks out tomorrow.

I'm gonna eat about 50 pounds of Sushi once I can find a place open and not packed to the gills with fatties like me.

I got into sushi late in the game, so I'm still middle of road on full raw stuff. It's the texture of a slice of raw fish more than flavor or thought of what I'm eating. But, I love certain preparations. I have not yet tried the sashimi, just a straight raw slice on rice. The salmon might be different, but it was the feel and sound of the raw yellowfin that keeps me a dedicated novice.

Cookeville, TN has a really good place, Taiko. Never regretted anything I have tried there. Most things I get now are lightly seared stuff. Taiko has a Taiko fried rice that is basically snow crab fried rice and is mega addictive.

First place I ever ate sushi was Ru Sans in Athens, GA. Their regular menu is crazy good, and the sushi is superb. I got a roll that was huge, as in diameter. It had salmon and tuna, and cream cheese and a couple other things. then each slice was dipped and tempura fried, but the fish was never more than done than Med Rare. It was awesome, and a good choice for beginners instead of that wimpy California Roll.

Actually, the owner of Taiko in Cookeville, is also the owner of House of Thai, and Rice Time Bistro. All in Cookeville. House of Thai is pretty good, and more of his upscale offering as Cookeville goes. But, there is no Asian food in Cookeville that can touch Rice Time. General Tso's and his buddies down at the china buffet is a joke compared to real Asian food. Their menu offering is prepared more like traditional street venders would cook in Thailand. You can menu order, or get from the bar (not public buffet, you point, they plate). really good eats.

Bruh...I can't help that you're uncultured and don't know deliciousness when it hits your palate.

All dipped in lower sodium Soy sauce with a bit of wasabi. My salivary glands are working OT right now.
