Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I understand the message you are trying to convey, and I believe that a shutdown of businesses for 6 weeks (outside of NYC) was an overreaction. However, there is one flaw to your argument. Not everyone in a high risk category for severe illness after contracting the Coronavirus is within 20 years of certain death. People can easily live much longer than that with preexisting conditions such as asthma, diabetes and mild emphysema... or even with a compromised immune system such as AIDS.
Those people should stay home. Quarantining all of us is completely ass backwards.

Why would they be standing in front of a trolley?
Do you think all old people are stupid or just old women?

You either get old or get stupid but not usually both. I assume you're very young.
She like all the other lawyers here went to a top law school you couldn't even be the janitor at. It's a tremendous school, the best. Believe me. No one has ever see a law school like the one the VNPF lawyers have matriculated from. It's beautiful. It produces the best most top notch lawyers in the world. If you didn't go there your career can be summed up in one word: Sad!

And here I am studying to get into janitor school. It's not even a good janitor school.

As opposed to the Super-Trimmed, Wine and Balsamic Marinated Filet Mignons and Cold Water Lobster Tails they were being treated to before Michelle Obama's campaign? Public school cafeteria food has always sucked, unless you enjoy soggy tater tots and under-cooked grilled chicken sandwiches on stale bread. Inmates in maximum security prisons are served a better quality of food. That was just something for the whiners on Fox News to harp on about. Michelle Obama was never the hypocrite that Melania Trump has been with her "Be Best" campaign against the cyber-bullying of teenagers... all while her own husband is the biggest Twitter troll on the planet. Melania Trump does not seem to possess even an ounce of self-awareness with such nonsense.

NGV makes one comment about MO's lunch program and you go off with tangential whataboutisms on Trump and Melania.
You are really stressing with politics lately and becoming a biter old man. You are a good fun guy, let it go.

Have been wondering today what China’s relationship with the rest of the world will be after this is all over.

There’s no doubt they want to unseat the United States as the sole super power in the world - they couldn’t in a direct war, but they’ve had help with a virus (not saying China intentionally released) and the US committing economic suicide.

Who knows what the next few years will hold?

China probably didn't intentionally release but they did not allow travel inside of China from Wuhan but allowed travel from Wuhan to Europe and the US. Wink Wink

Hes your typical lib. I know what is best for you and tough luck about not having a job but be happy that you can get an unemployment check because we know what's best for you. Now stop bothering me we have an election to win

I dont see the flaw you are stating. I'm merely pointing out it is not wise to perpetuate this nonsense of "one death is one death too many" by government officials.

We dont have the economic means to sustain this nonsense. There is a complex sliding scale based on age, money, years remaining, etc that we do use as individuals. I would not want my family to take on a tsunami of debt just to keep me alive for another 40 years. If that is what it would take, then as much as I'd hate it, it is time for me to go. There is no reason the government should be operating any differently. It really isnt even in their job scope.

We obviously aren't talking about a few deaths here. Approximately 1 in 17 American adults have COPD. Roughly 15.5 million Americans have been diagnosed, but millions more may have some form of COPD and not know it. This is a population of people who are at risk of serious illness and death, if they contract COVID-19 and they are not necessarily over 50. You are making it sound like you believe death was already imminent for most of the victims of COVID-19. I'm saying that is not necessarily the case at all.

The average age of death in MA is 82.

The infamous UK modeler stated he believed one half to two thirds of UK victims would have died by the end of the year regardless of covid.

Death was imminent for most of these people.

I don’t know where you went to school but it sounds like it sucked . I knew most or we as a whole knew the cooks in our schools and we had real food not brussel sprouts and tofu or no meat Monday’s . I don’t think I was ever served undercooked chicken or over cooked tater tots . Maybe like all things , it’s not what is being cooked but the actual cooks in the kitchen .

We had great food but that was before the fed .gov got involved.

Most blue states are only blue because one or two large cities make them blue. Illinois turns red pretty quickly once you leave Chicago. It's only a matter of time before this starts happening in parts of Michigan as well. I just don't think it makes sense to put rural Illinois on the same lockdown as Chicago. Really makes it look like these Dem governors just want to punish the parts of the state that don't support them.
