For the premium being paid, the supplier should have goods delivered the next day and then payment can be wired. If a supplier is unwilling to wait for payment from NY state, until after goods are delivered.....then RED effing flag.

It wreaks of systemic incompetence and negligence.

I mean did the supposed supplier send over spec sheets on these things for medical experts to review and approve before purchase? I doubt the procurement folks know a damn thing about ventilators. Or did he just send a damn word document quote that said "Really Good Ventilators $50,000 each"

This virus sucks but it is easy to see NYC and NYS are your typical big govt cluster****s and have undoubtedly helped to worsen their situation.

Without perusing the info in the link your provided, I can tell you from experience that the only thing the government does with any success rate is:

1. Drop bombs on those that don't comply.

AND

2. Take my money via wealth confiscation, (read: Tax; see also, Theft).

All this (or that) to say, how much do we really want (or need) the Government to protect?
