Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Dude where did I say anything about his voting habits or political affiliation?? I called him an idiot because surprise surprise if you have a pre-existing condition, you’re more likely to die from a virus, so we need to do what we can to prevent the spread of the virus and protect those at a greater risk of dying.

I also think a slow reopen, with screening in place in a good way to do that. But if things go south, going back to shutdown needs to an option as well.

I’m a registered Republican BTW.
I think Travis may be arguing the wisdom of blanket quarantine and economic shutdown, instead of sequestering the at-risk.
That's a rational argument that should've received more debate before plunging into Option A.

The data is in — Stop the Panic and End the total isolation

The tragedy of the COVID-19 pandemic appears to be entering the containment phase. Tens of thousands of Americans have died, and Americans are now desperate for sensible policymakers who have the courage to ignore the panic and rely on facts. Leaders must examine accumulated data to see what has actually happened, rather than keep emphasizing hypothetical projections; combine that empirical evidence with fundamental principles of biology established for decades; and then thoughtfully restore the country to function.

Fact 1: The overwhelming majority of people do not have any significant risk of dying from COVID-19.

Fact 2: Protecting older, at-risk people eliminates hospital overcrowding.

Fact 3: Vital population immunity is prevented by total isolation policies, prolonging the problem.

Fact 4: People are dying because other medical care is not getting done due to hypothetical projections.

Fact 5: We have a clearly defined population at risk who can be protected with targeted measures.

The data is in — stop the panic and end the total isolation

I think the route we took was fine, overreacting is always the better option when dealing with an unknown pandemic, now that more data is coming out though I think a phased reopen is the way to go, with lots of testing, ppe for employees and social distancing.

Everyone I ever met in Russia really liked Putin if that is what you think you are getting at. He is for building a strong Russia. Not bowing to every other country he thinks he 'needs'. And they also thought Obama was a joke.
I’m sure all is well under the ever watchful eye of the kremlin and Putin. But I’m not surprised you’re using one tyrannical government to support another.
