If the season doesn't start on time; they'll be plenty of roster changes. If the season starts in the spring; every player with a chance of being drafted will not play. They won't take a chance on injury with the NFL draft, and NFL camps opening in the summer.

Moderna, Inc. out of Massachusetts was the first U.S. Company to start human trial of a vaccine in March. So I would say they are the closest. They are also working with the NIAID which makes their process faster. Don’t know what that means in terms of release of a vaccine though.
