Maybe to a slight degree but not "period". Some of the guys lost weren't because they decided to move on of their own accord.

If JG is still the starter, this year is going to be a big disappointment.

I have absolute zero faith in him outside of coming off the bench..he just has faulty wiring.

I was wondering who we’d actually faced that met the criteria. You could add Bryce Petty in the same class and he might meet the definition even more.

If it comes to that you look for a transfer again. But no way both leave imo. That’s crazy. Quit with this argument. Bailey will push the starting QB all year if he doesn’t win the job outright. If JT doesn’t show out and leave for the draft, he may very well get beat out by Bailey come 2021. He’s a talented kid. We don’t have a good QB ready for this season. So keep recruiting QBs!

JT is not even in the same class as Bailey. He will be gone in 1 or 2 years tops - if he is not, then he probably isn’t playing well enough to keep his job with Bailey behind him.

Should we be looking for just a mediocre backup QB for this coming recruiting class? Or should we be looking for another 5 ⭐️ elite QB? Last thing we want is a backup to transfer!!

JTS or JTD? JTD is listed as the top transfer of the entire year and former composite 5*.

JTS...yes, not on HB's level (I would estimate).

For everyone worried that we will have QB’s transfer out let’s look at a few scenarios.

First BM and JTS could transfer without JTD transferring here so let’s not focus on them

Scenarios if JTD transfers here


1) JTD wins the job plays great and goes pro after one year. In this scenario I think HB stays and competes with the 21 QB for the starting job. No reason for HB to transfer when nobody would be in front of him. It would just be like if JTD didn’t transfer here and JG won the job

2) JTD wins the job plays better than other QB’s but doesn’t go pro. HB could transfer but then you JTD coming back and you sign a QB in 21

3) JTD doesn’t win the job. If it’s HB then we have a QB for at least 3 years. If it’s still JG then JTD HB and the 21 QB battle for the QB job for the 21 season and the loser between JTD and HB will probably transfer.


I don’t see a scenario where it’s bad if we take JTD. The worst scenario I see is if we don’t get JTD and JG plays poorly and HB isn’t ready. Taking another QB improves the chances of one of them being really good.

I just want to win again.

It's been a tough ride since the SEC Championship in 2001. Some good years, good memories, but, basically almost 2 decades of under performing, sucking, drama, and coaching changes.

I just want to win again. Winning breeds more winning. Great players will want to come. There is no such thing as a promise or guarantee in college football, and now with the transfer portal, that is more apparent.

Players that play and stay healthy and eligible, will continue to play until replaced or graduated or their career is over. Players that don't get to play, are more inclined to move on and seek greener pastures unless they want to stay for whatever reason and wait.

So, get the best players, play the best players, and let the season begin. I don't want to lose Bailey, but, I'm not going to protect sensibilities or ego's for what if's. Coaches got to get, and play, whoever can help this season. If Daniels comes, hopefully it works out, maybe not, and maybe Bailey plays or maybe not, or someone else. Coaches will make their decisions and continue to earn their nice paychecks, or get replaced.

I just want to win again. This kid can help, then come on down.

Siding with JG over JT Daniels is the equivalent of insisting on bringing a knife to a gun fight. We play a damn tough schedule, y’all. Talking 4 top ten teams and it’s not a given we’re going to win the rest of our SEC games. Couldn’t you see us going up to Columbia or even Fayetteville or Nashville and losing with JG at QB? I mean, why not, right? The guy lost to Georgia effing State. JT Daniels, I’m confident we’re at least working with 8-4 and I won’t have to deal with any upsets to trash teams. If he wants to come, we need to make it happen.

What I remember more than anything is the defense not being able to line up correctly. Obviously if we scored more, we win but what sticks in my mind is a confused defense..

I DISAGREED with your comparison of adding OL’s via transfer vs quarterbacks. Different dynamic? Mebbe a little?

I won't argue on this forever. The comparison was narrow.... only that someone who might have played will likely not play because Mays transferred in. If Daniels transfers in then he may cause someone else's prospects to fall in a similar but not identical way.

Do you understand the difference between a prediction and a past event?

FWIW, to give JG a great deal of credit for those 8 wins... is a massive stretch. Had the D and OL not improved significantly over the year, Vandy and IU would have been losses. JG threw as poorly in those two games as he did early in the season and maybe even worse.

We differ in opinions and analogies being used...neither of us is in a position of authority. So BASIC DISAGREEMENT will suffice.

Cade Mays could also swing out to tackle or the other guard if situations arise...as they tend to do during games. During hotly contested games, there are plenty of snaps to be had...and in blowouts the same. If your quarterback isn’t starting and finishing a game in which the outcome is in doubt? Something negative is afoot...and they ain’t swinging Guarantano or Maurer out to the slot.
