Why not? Just legalize everything!! Who cares about how it destroys lives, families, communities, the lives of children, etc. just legalize it all so that more people will have access to it! What will it hurt? Who cares if little children are neglected by their parents because both are hooked on meth? Make it legal!

You think that doesn't happen now? Look at some of the European models where it's legal and they have lower drug rates. Good arguments on both sides but you eliiminate a lot of cartel influence with legalization.

There's also the psychological aspects of people rebelling against laws. Funds used for effective treatment/education/prevention could be more effective.

Not to mention removing the felon stigma of low level dealers and users, getting them out of a system designed for them fail and reoffend and providing them opportunities for better jobs to help them heal and move past their mistakes.

There will always be people that eff up and choose drug addiction but we could do much better by the ones willing to change.

This last sentence is not true. The reason why prescription drug use is bad is because people have access to it. Far less people have access to meth. If we legalize meth or heroin, then it becomes much more accessible and therefore much more will use and become addicted. They are extremely addictive and destructive. So to say that it doesn't matter if they are legal or illegal is simply wrong.

All the drugs you mentioned are already very accessible.
