You had me up until you called Gainesville "a decent town". After that lie, I had to question the veracity of your entire statement. ;)

If you like the Gators, like hot coeds, like great weed, work in the medical field and enjoy a mix of all etnic groups it's great. It's also clean with relatively low crime.

If you are past your mid 20's and work outside the medical field it sucks....just not much geared to raising a family. Traffic is bad too.

But damn, those pool parties and lingerie parties on campus...wow. If it wasn't full of gator fans it would be much better. It's a little easier to overlook fandom when you have a Playboy level coed flirting with you and she is basically naked....and they aren't gold digging....just looking for a good time.

I'm got some nostalgia if you can't tell. 😁

Gainesville is a nice city other than the fact covered with obnoxious gator fans. I visit family a lot . I, unfortunately, have lots of family living in Gainesville. Half the family lives in Chattanooga and diehard Vol fans the other half live in Gainesville and diehard Gator fans and the rest live in Homestead or grew up in South Miami and Canes fans. The Canes fans family we don't argue or smack talk at all but the Gator fans side of the family it's smack talk every year but unfortunately, I have nothing to talk smack for the last 10 years or so except one game it seems.

However, lately, the downtown area of Gainesville is overrun with bums and drug attics begging for money. Last time I was there to visit early this year for work and family I went downtown to smoke a cigar at a cigar shop downtown and couldn't even enjoy my smoke without a different bum coming up and asking me for money every 10-15 minutes. Very annoying!!!

I feel dirty now.

Breakthrough COVID-19 antibody test with nearly 100% accuracy can help reopen economy

“It showed a sensitivity of 100% and a specificity of 99.6%,” said Alex Greniger, assistant director of the UW Virology Lab. “Diagnostically, this is one of the best tests we can offer,” he said.

If this one gets in the hands of a much larger number of people and continues to suggest a much lower mortality when adjusted for actual demographics, then we got something to talk about. They've started shipping large numbers of test kits, so we should know something actionable with a couple of weeks.

I caught HPV from reading this post

To add on to what @BaldBiker was saying in the Junior Colson thread, I've noticed something while working retail.

Younguns these days don't have the in-state loyalty.

But you don't see a self-respecting boomer wearing no damn bama shirt, I can always get a conversation going about UT with them, unlike the zoomers

inb4 ok boomer-zoomer
I don’t think it’s reflective of a lack of loyalty to where you grew up.

It probably has a lot to do with every game being on TV and the internet. Used to be you grew up a Tennessee fan because that’s what you saw on TV or heard on the radio. Also didn’t hurt that we were really damn good.

Next time that happens ask the bum to see their permit. Gainesville requires permis to panhandle.

I live/work in St. Augustine area. Gator fans there are much less obnoxious. All my bosses and co-workers don't do more than good natured ribbing and most want to see us do well again....they miss the rivalry and want to see us knock UGA back down to 3rd place in the pecking order and compete with us for SEC dominance.

When Meyer/Tebow were there and Billy Donovan was winning championships, the younger fans were insufferable.

All in all, it's harder for me to hate gator fans as much because I know so many good people that are fans. I F'ing despise their teams though.

NC here. Welcome. There are precisely no beautiful women here...so at least you won't be tempted to look 🤣

Lol, I lived in Carry, Fuquay-Varina and Apex over the course of several years and I love the Raleigh-Durham area....I saw lots of good looking women of all nationalities. Not FL level but most of the South has beautiful women, just some areas not as concentrated.

We moved back to FL after several years because my wife missed it....and I can work in sales from anywhere.

My wife has no problem with looking just not touching....she will point them out to me. But I'm respectful with it and always remind her that she is beautiful and the one for me. I even point out guys checking her out because it's good for a woman's confidence (and a man's), especially since she is a 35 year old mother. Luckily, she is a curvy 125lbs with a naturally beautiful face and looks like late 20's so it's easy to help her stay feeling attractive.

I was there and couldn't believe the clock actually ran out. I just stood there paused, waiting for them go to back and add a second. I had this sinking feeling from 2013 Vandy where we think we won, but they'd put a second back on, score a td, go for 2, and we'd Butch it.

BVS is too strong a disease.

Still shocked they didn't call PI there or give UGA one more throw at the end zone with 1 second left. I waited 5 minutes after the game was over for the flag.
Me too. I just knew it was coming. Even woke up the next day to make sure they hadn't called both teams back to the field hours later. There wasn't any PI, but I just k we they would call it...lol

I am a five jump chump Lol. Went to jump school in 85. Still one of by best memories. I got dogged out so bad because I was an ROTC cadet. I wouldn't trade that time for anything.

Haha, well hello fellow former officer. I had 35 Jumps when I got out which I did in roughly a 4 yr time span. So not too bad. Especially since the first 2 yrs they were basically only letting us jump if we had to. I was an Infantry Officer at Fort Bragg. Good times wouldn’t trade them for anything.
