I think the machine would be smart enough to build thorium reactors and harvest energy from the sun. Unless you're saying that the matrix stories took place 2 billion years from now when our sun is gone in which case I don't think we should worry about that. Besides if there were no resources what would keep us alive to supply that electricity?well when there are no natural resources you gotta get electricity somehow...

Probably already posted, but I would take it.
It does need to duplicate it to comport with reality. Plus you would get regression to the mean if the computer is filling in gaps on a probabilistic basis. As new people are added to the set, everyone would shift towards “average behavior/thought” until individuals cannot be resolved from one another. It doesn't have to be an exact duplication. It will be the machines decision as to what is good enough.

one of the first things the machine would do is come to the conclusion that 3 billion pets are too many. It might start with a requirement of spaying and neutering, to be followed by extermination. It does need to duplicate it to comport with reality. That’s a gigantic assumption. And I hope you’re wrong since we already have too many humans that want that.one of the first things the machine would do is come to the conclusion that 3 billion pets are too many. Apparently Taiwan has a lot of very smart medical people. What they've done during this crisis has been impressive. Yet most of the world is ignoring them. China affect? WHO? I guess those 2 are the same thing?I was reading about a Taiwanese developed test that can be administered at home. Place a drop of blood and within a couple of min you know whether you have had it or currently have it and are in the early stages of developing antibodies.
China is afraid of Taiwan because Taiwan knows how to be capitalist and they do it as well as anybody. Some of my best friends are Taiwanese and they are quite impressive.Apparently Taiwan has a lot of very smart medical people. What they've done during this crisis has been impressive.
