All conspiracy theories aside...

It absolutely must remain voluntary and with the option for removal.

Also, I wouldn't do it.
1st just in case conspiracy theories are right.😁

2nd because of hackers. Of course there will be claims of no potential for misuse... just like they always do before something gets hacked and misused.

Did you get compromised in the Experian hack? The pure irony.

Yes, the current system is inadequate. We already have digital IDs, SSNs, etc. I think this is trying to improve fidelity and privacy.

Though it could be worse too. Which is why I think blockchain could be a solution. You can't hack a blockchain.

I guess it is debatable on whether it better for security with having multiple entities with different data or one centralized with all your data. As far as ID2020, hell no.

I believe blockchain is neither. It is completely decentralized and with all the same data. 1 immutable ledger.

What part of ID2020's standards or concepts did you disagree with? We certainly need someone to work for higher standards of privacy and fidelity. Maybe not them, but they are merely proposing standards and releasing whitepapers. They aren't actually creating anything.

You are much more knowledgable than I am, but it is more than security. It is who has the info and no way do I want all of my info shared with Microsoft, the UN, or any single entity.

It already is/can be. This is part of the point imo - we need much better privacy. Higher standards of privacy and fidelity can be achieved and only 1 person would own it - you. Just like a key in the blockchain, only you could look at it or share with others.

Jmo. There are parts of their vision I'm not sure how they fit or would work. I merely think the current system is nearly completely vulnerable and exploitable and there is a better way to do it.

That is a lot of trust, especially with the UN and Microsoft. Your existence without it would be wiped away.

This is a nice chart of what digital identities consist of. All of that already exists (unless you operate in black markets/cash under the table purely, have never used your SSN, internet, etc). Between SSNs and conventional digital identities, this all exists as-is, but with minimal privacy and lacking fidelity. Tons of fraud and personal information out there and unsecured.

Let me ask then, What is in it for them? What security measures can be applied to a centralized account that cannot be implemented with individual accounts?

the law is the law, right? i mean see border enforcement.
They are in their cars in a parking lot at a drive in service at church. It is unconstitutional what they are doing. Are they arresting the people in their cars at the grocery store? AG Barr disagrees that this is the law, btw.
