Unions lost their teeth when they began acting in their own self-interest as opposed to their constituents, or playing politics at the expense of their own constituents. NATO was also not good for unions.
Unions were necessary and great at their inception. Now, they are a pox and one of the biggest reasons so many manufacturers have moved sites elsewhere.

My one question about this is, wouldn't "spring practice" in July just role right into the start of fall camp in August? Or would they shorten the July practices?

You get an allotted 15 practices or whatever so teams could choose when to use them. It never made much sense to me why you would prep for next year in spring practice when all of your team isn’t even there.

I sure don't mean to be that guy on a Friday night to come in here with doom and gloom but I found out this afternoon that my mom has Dementia. As many of you know I just buried my Dad last September after 12 years with Dementia. Now we are about to walk through it again with my mom. I love my Vol family and wanted to share this with you as I know in here over the years we have shared in so many laughs and heart aches both in football and in real life. Appreciate your prayers for this one is going to be more challenging in so many ways. Thanks ahead of time for the encouragement and prayers I will receive for all of you. GO VOLS!! Can't wait until August !!

Because he is. I don’t have to go back and watch babe Ruth games to know that he wasnt better than mike trout

I agree. I get the whole “those players didn’t have the technology and training as today’s do” argument to an extent but there’s some athletes that are just different and you can tell in any time period. Mike Trout is one of those guys and it’s crazy how unappreciated he is. He’s on the same level as Jordan, tiger, lebron, Federer etc and no one really cares.

Baseball is terrible at marketing their superstars

I see all the old farts are agreeing with you lol. I'm old too, just really wanting to give you some crap is all.

lol. All in fun, bud. Just came back to give and take some punches.

If Tiger had gone to the less physical swing, similar to what he is using now, earlier in his career he would have passed Jack in majors IMO. He didn't need to try to make his body be more than it was capable to have racked up incredible numbers. His focus and concentration are legendary. He could will the ball into the hole better than about anybody ever. But he killed his body with workouts and women. Let's not kid ourselves, he had it a lot easier with the huge sponsor money as he started. No financial issues to be concerned with - just practice and play.

Total distance off the tee isn't as important anymore. Good distance with accuracy, then follow it with a high % of GIR and strong putting. It's better to be hitting that 100 yard sand wedge than to be 50 yards out throttling down on a lob wedge or finding yourself in the high grass. That's what he does now, where before he would just try to knock it as far as he could. The problem now is the window has closed somewhat. He had a lot of issues to conquer at the height of his career that hurt him. The kids grew up that idolized him and are his competition now. This bunch is not intimidated and hit the tour expecting to win.

Jack lost interest in playing a lot of tournaments when he got near 40 as his businesses took off. He stopped practicing as much as he needed if he had wanted to stay at a high level. His physical issues contributed as well. But the other pros that played against him had the same praises as the recent crop have for Tiger.

A neighbor friend of mine and I were talking a few minutes ago and he told me a joke I'm gonna post before I forget it.

A suspected Covid-19 male patient is lying in bed at the hospital, wearing an oxygen mask over his mouth and nose. A young student female nurse appears and gives him a partial sponge bath.
"Nurse", he mumbles from behind the mask, "are my testicles black?"
Embarassed, the young nurse replies, "I don't know sir, I'm only here to wash your upper body and feet."
He struggles to ask again, "Nurse, please check for me. Are my testicles black?"
Concerned that he might elevate his blood pressure and heart rate from worrying about his testicles, she overcomes her embarrasment and pulls back the covers.
She raises his gown, holds his manhood in one hand and his testicles gently in the other.
She looks very closely and says "there's nothing wrong with them sir. They look fine."
The man slowly pulls off his oxygen mask, smiles at her and says very slowly, "thank you very much. That was wonderful. Now listen very very closely, are -my -test -results- back?"
😂😂😂😂

He’s the best we’ve ever seen at baseball. I wish he was a Brave.
