I agree. For the sake of argument I would like to see contingency plans for a shortened season but with limited or no practice, even if they did play, it would make for a sloppy season. No vaccine till 2021 pretty safe bet that there will be no football even without fans. You going to take that chance with 100 players on each team in very close proximity to each other. One player or coach gets infected you have to shut the whole season down just like the NBA did.
LOL...Definitive statements are made on VN all the time, no? situation is very fluid...could be better than expected...could be worse. Personally, I'm having a problem backing into the timeline which would work for college football to be played this year. This thing won't just "be over" by the time players are to report. Social distancing is going to be a "thing" for awhile, and just don't see how student athletes will be put in harms way for so the NCAA and schools can make their billions. That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying no one knows what will happen. You made a definitive statement. You don't know, and I don't know, so making a statement like that this early is rather arrogant and not defensible at this point.
I tend to agree with your viewpoint, personally, but no one really knows. I was surprised that MLB is looking into beginning baseball in May. College football is big money, and money talks, so we will see in the months ahead. Also, my point about definitive statements is not that they're made or not made, but that making them as fact is a bit unwise. Making those statements as opinion is healthy and worth the banter.LOL...Definitive statements are made on VN all the time, no? situation is very fluid...could be better than expected...could be worse. We won’t have football this season.
It seems some are actually rooting for the virus with their constant negativityThe frequency with which you pop into threads to espouse this belief does nothing to negate you sounding like a complete fool, contrary to what you've deluded yourself into believing, because there absolutely will be collegiate football this season.
Will fans be in attendance? Maybe. Will the season start in September, will it boast an unabridged schedule? Unclear! Is every Power 5 school going to participate? Perhaps not. But with the way this "calamity" is under-delivering, there's simply no way that such a lucrative revenue stream is going to remain completely dry
We will see, but the truth is nobody even then the best doctors and smartest doctors know what this virus will do. They do believe it will last thru the summer heat and get stronger in the fall for the second wave. The frequency with which you pop into threads to espouse this belief does nothing to negate you sounding like a complete fool, contrary to what you've deluded yourself into believing, because there absolutely will be collegiate football this season.

None of the models the best or smartest doctors use say the virus will last past June. The models are also shrinking every time they release the new findings, 2 million people would die, then 200K, then 100K, then 80K and now 60K they also expect that number to shrink again this weekend. They also got the number of hospitalizations wrong, the number of ICU beds needed was way off along with ventilators. You act as if things are getting worse when in reality there are a lot of positive things happening. Also Dr. Fauci he expects kids to go back to school in August and says we will be much better prepared come fall. So please, quit trying to stoke fearWe will see, but the truth is nobody even then the best doctors and smartest doctors know what this virus will do. I don't think it's fear, it's the reality of the situation. If they cancel summer classroom courses, it's over. All of us are wanting things to get back to normal but normal is not on the horizon. The "models"are not what's keeping us from normal. Go around and try to act normal and people will think you're crazy.None of the models the best or smartest doctors use say the virus will last past June.
