Burns Civil War documentary is probably the most complete. I don't know of too many actual movies that I thought were great. Gettysburg was good, not great. However the book it was based off of, The Killer Angels, was probably the best 'fictional' book I have read on the war, albeit the story focused solely on Gettysburg But if we include movies, tv series, etc., that were based around the war, then there were some really great movies such as The Outlaw Josie Wales, or tv series such as Hell On Wheels.
I loved The Killer Angels.
 
Hey BaldBiker, of all the Cival War movies, mini-series, documentaries you have seen over the years, how would you rate them and what was your favorite? This is for others to chime in as well.

Ken Burns doc is perfect. The Gettysburg movie is a great way to kill four and a half hours. Glory was one of my favorite movies as a kid.

Man. There have been some really good ones through the years (IMO, not nearly enough though).

"Glory" has to be up there of course. One of my favorites from childhood (actually need to find it again) was a John Wayne movie. I think it was called "Shiloh". I'll have to look it up to be sure.
 
I absolutely do not believe it is 2% of all infected, but that doesn't matter. I will buy it being closer to 1%. That is still 2% of "confirmed" cases. The true number is at least half that. Asymptomatic and almost none of the lightly symptomatic do not get tested anywhere. If you want to believe that crap then go for it.

Right. My original statement was that it was closer to 1% than most want to admit. I wasn't saying 2%.

I did not mean it like that. I absolutely hate outdoors elitists who don't want anybody touching the nations treasures besides thrmselves. I do wish that everybody who went to a National Park would respect them, and take care of them for each other. They belong to all of us.

I was trying to refrain today, but this post will be in the innocuous category.

Once we have a large number of antibody tests and this thing initial curve is behind us, we can do random samplings in a whole bunch of communities across the country. With that, we'll get a very good idea of how many people have had this thing. That will be the answer to a lot of questions.

If they wanted to go whole hog, they could just test everyone, but I'm sure there will be plenty that just don't want to for one reason or another.

Then good..we agree. I do believe that 1% could be knocked way down just by keeping the elderly away from everybody else, or everybody else away from them.

When over 85% of deaths in Italy was people over 70...that should have been a giant wake up call.

I wish I could get tested for that now. I would like to know if the bug I had a couple of months back was it or not.

Crappy thing for me..I have had every listed symptom besides a fever in the last four weeks. I have allergies really badly every spring, so every freakin day I have been taking my temp ever 3-4 hours.

Whatever...I love the National Parks and I treat them with more respect than I do my church building. I don't hate you for hating people that trash the parks...I do too. There should be gigantic fines for people that do that crap, or bring infected wood and other things into them.

you know, there's obviously not a whole lot going on football wise these days...but unless it's all just smoke up the you know what, it sounds like TN is doing some really good things on the recruiting trail. seems like the bones of htis class are starting to form, and at least based on what's being reported, we have some general idea of what the board kinda looks like at this point.

as if this year couldn't be any weirder, i'm sure the recruiting calendar and season will get weirder, who knows what will happen if there is or is not an ESD, how visits will go, or when they'll happen....so im expecting this recruiting class to be a big time roller coaster before it's all said and done......

but, i do like some of the stuff that i'm reading about....seems like they're doing good work despite the circumstance.

Just because you do doesn't mean everybody or even a few do. There are fines but who is going to police that? The three park rangers that are policing 100 square miles? The sad thing is the majority of people that visit national parks drive around, park in a lot that is overflowing, get their fat asses out, eat a picnic and throw trash everywhere, take a selfie, change a diaper, leave the dirty one in the parking lot and drive back to Pigeon Forge for some early afternoon pancakes. Giving the park a couple months reprieve is nothing but a silver lining.

Wow Newt! Since we became besties yesterday, I'm actually finding myself agreeing with you on this. A couple of months of non human contact will do wonders for our parks. Nature has a way of repairing itself fairly quickly, when left alone for a while.

cody brown is one that i think we're in really good shape with apparently.....

Nixon, the WR out of GA is another....

Colson, LB from TN....and while dylan brooks is not super talkative, it's just hard to ignore that he's visited here as much as he has anywhere, so you'd have to think we're legitimately in that running too.
several of the NC kids have TN high on the list it seems. though i think a couple of the bigger names may be tough to pull....

i mean, i'm not gonna tell you we're "set". but to be as early on as we are, and with the current situation, i'd rather be hearing what most of these kids are saying right now, than not........
