same. i stalk, but am only able to see them when friends in austin get them in person. truly inspiring art.

We'll see how this all plays out, but many, myself included, have been saying from the git go that this has been greatly overblown. Not to be ignored, but overblown. Of course we've been mock and criticized for doing so.

My only question is why has it been so. Honest misreading of the data? Being overly cautious? Something political? Idk, but have my suspicions.

If the final numbers turn out to be more in line with the new, lower numbers it's a good news, bad news thing. Good that the impact wasn't so bad. But bad that, as some argued, we needlessly tanked our economy and caused emotional stress on a ton of people.

Merry-go-round.

The numbers and projections changed only after the mitigation efforts took hold. What would they look like with no mitigation? I can't definitively answer that and neither can you, but a lot of people who are experts said it would be really bad. Based on the numbers, the experience of Italy and Spain, and New York and New Orleans, I'm inclined to believe them.

Further, if hospitals did get overrun when we didn't do anything to slow the virus, what do you think would have happened to people's behavior, the stock market, and the movement of goods, services, and money in the country? I don't know about you, but I'm guessing those take a big hit in that scenario as well.

My freedom to peaceably assemble to worship (or to assemble for any other valid reason), my freedom to earn a living, my freedom to travel without fear of being stopped by armed officers are all affected. When you sacrifice freedom for promises of security, you will have neither.

Maybe you should move? For example, in SC you can still assemble for worship, even now. You’re choosing to live somewhere that doesn’t allow that. That’s on you. You’re free to move. Government isn’t stopping you.

Additionally, you’re free to earn a living. Start an online business, a landscaping business, be a healthcare worker, work at a restaurant, as a delivery driver, etc. There are still people earning a living and not just in those careers. You choose to work in a field (I assume, since you made this a point) that doesn’t allow you to do that in these times yet in reality, you have the freedom to find other work. No one stopping you. Not saying it’s easy to do and certainly not trying to minimize the economic impact of this bc EVERYONE is feeling it, I’m just pointing out the government isn’t keeping you from getting another job.

Your rights aren’t being infringed upon as much as you want to believe, or I guess want everyone else to believe. You’re just not capable and/or willing to find solutions to the road blocks that have been placed in front of you.

The government isn’t stopping you from doing those things you listed, you’re stopping yourself. You’re still a free man in a free country.

The artists they get are some of the best. I have a ton of gig posters around my house, that and Mondo movie posters are my favorite forms of artwork for sure.

before i got into sports design i was a show poster designer for clubs in baton rouge and new orleans. got started ripping off my bud scott campbell. he's one of the best: SCOTT CAMPBELL

How the crap could I know that? The point is, when they’re writing heart attack deaths as covid deaths as just one example, how do we know how many have died? But if we know that they are being very liberal with the mortality numbers, and thus far we’ve had 12k recorded deaths, then it is safe to assume that the actual deaths are much lower than that. And, if many more people have this thing than we know, and they do, as they continue to say many people are asymptomatic or have mild cases, then the death rate is even lower than they’re currently saying.

Let's put aside the mortality rate for a moment. Do you think our medical system would be able to handle a free-for-all virus wave?

Italy, Spain, New York, New Orleans, and others don't support that idea.

Beautiful stuff, I especially love that Portugal The Man one, I have one of theirs framed. I have a few Marc Spusta, Guy Burwell, Billy Perkins.

I’m not sure they will even run him. Think they’re going to ask him to step down at the convention and they’ll get someone like cuomo to run
What personal liberties exactly are being reduced. 99% of people in this country, in quarantine during a global pandemic, have running water, food that can be delivered instantly, electricity, internet, air conditioning.... the list goes on. Putting work and school on hold so that we can help out healthcare workers and protect the vulnerable is not having your personal liberties attacked. It is asking you to do your duty as an American and a human.
Yeah but I can't have a food truck street party with all my neighbors. WTF>?

Figured it was about as accurate as any other number being thrown out these days. Bottom line..."stay at home" sucks and I don't like it! I may end up killing my wife and kids over it.

If however, a couple of more weeks of it helps...I'll stay at home.

Doesn't mean i want to hear or read about it every day though. Especially on here. I personally would rather have one of our idiotic talks about whatever idiotic subject we come up with on any particular day.
Who do you think made the biggest difference for the Union in the Battle of Gettysburg?

But... we aren't having one, even though we were told 4 weeks ago that we'd have one in two weeks, and then two weeks ago we'd be having one right now. It's not happening. Was never going to happen. I'm sure social distancing is helping, but those models included social distancing, and yet nobody is running out of ventilators. Hospitals are not running out of room. My wife is a nurse here in Atlanta and is sitting over there with nearly nothing to do.

I am never in favor of misrepresenting anything to fit a personal agenda. Many posters on here are guilty of that.
So then, if they are counting deaths that are not a result of Covid as Covid deaths, then...? Which is why I said the death rate is not accurate and it is impossible for us to know what the death rate is as long as that stuff is going on. But considering there are 12k reported Covid deaths, and those include deaths for other reasons, then it is safe to assume that there isn't that much death from this virus. Further, since more people have it than we currently know as they are asymptomatic or having mild symptoms and therefore are not tested, the death rate is even lower than what is assumed.

No it’ll just be good news/ good news. It’ll mean that we took it seriously and listened to medical professionals and kept our distance, this helping tamp the spread of the virus and preventing deaths that would have occurred otherwise.

Yeah, so even if this is/was overblown, screw those whose lives have been needlessly messed up, those who have needlessly lost jobs, retirees who now don't know how they're going to have enough income, young people who are confused and scared, hs seniors who feel cheated because they don't get a prom and maybe not a real graduation, companies that have gone under. Hey, they need to just get over it. At least they didn't die like somebody said they might, so it's all good.

Sorry, sometimes "oopsie" isn't good enough. It's good news, but anyone who doesn't see the bad is just trying to argue.

One of the problems with preventive measures is that when they are done right, you aren't sure they did anything at all.

If you don't think the mitigation did anything despite all the evidence and numbers that have been thrown around, I don't think I'm going to convince you otherwise on a sports message board.
