Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

crooked? no
playing the government's usual game to keep their businesses and budgets bottom lines on the right side? yes
I guess part of me is hoping everyone is not doing that. I am sure that there are some....there are always bad apples everywhere, especially when money is involved.

I don’t see how you can really climb anyone’s frame here other than China. Whoever was in the White House for this was lied to from the start. Our response was based on a lie, and that initially proved to be wrong. Garbage in garbage out. Once we started getting our own data things changed quickly. If Clinton was president she would have faced the same issues and blaming her for relying on the Chinese not being lying assholes would be just as silly.

My post was based on a reply to Jim Acosta's tweet that NY will be flying flags at half-staff to honor the victims of Covid-19. It's a couple pages back. Somebody replied and said Acosta is a sack of s**t. "The media is the enemy of the people" is the constant refrain from Trump and his supporters - it's non-stop-whining and un-American in a free society.

please give an example of a President who hasn't done that?
I asked what should be said about presidents that do that. I know they do that....I've not known any to wade into the medical field to discuss drugs and treatment. But I could be wrong. Most presidents talk about the economy, some talk about law, President Obama talked about race. But I don't know of any that talked about drugs and treatments.

lol, bless your heart; you are so clueless and naive to the real world, and how the government causes things to operate. It doesn't make them "bad apples" it is the government's fault in the first place

I swear, if Trump would have come out and said:

"We have the best scientists and doctors in the world..the best, ok...they are just tremendous, and we should let them do their scientific studies to determine if hydroxychloroquine works, ok? We have the bestest doctors in the world, they are tremendous, many would say the best ever. They shouldn't be prescribing this drug, it doesn't matter if it is FDA approved."

The press and a segment of posters on here would be crying foul, saying Trump is killing people, and we would get daily updates on death counts of those that didn't take hydroxy and testimonials of doctors that say it is the cure. It would be a public skewering, similar to now, but from the other end of the debate.

Best post I've seen on here in a while. None of this is about science. It's all about opposing Trump.

Better yet, how about he say nothing. Just say that they are working with Drs, scientists, etc to find cure/vaccine. Stop giving conspiracy theorists red meat.
When President Obama opined on race relations, he was vilified for saying anything. Hell, athletes and actors are told to shut up about politics. Doctors should tell donald to shut up about medicine.

Because doctors globally were using and publicizing their results and media globally talking about it. And in fact, a reporter asked Birx about it in the Mar 18th presser, and Trump & team first spoke of it on Mar 19.

He's not there to be a mouthpiece for the medical silo, who've a lot of explaining to do in this.

Can you give an example of a past president who publicly undercut and/or contradicted his own experts? I can’t remember any off the top of my head.

Well Lincoln, FDR, Truman, JFK, LBJ, Nixon were the big ones who popped into my mind. All either publicly contradicted their own "experts" or simply fired those who disagreed with them

by Sunday I am betting they will be saying 50K. The total will continue to drop, bad news for dems and the DNC state media

Funny.

We went from 15 cases, soon to be zero,, to 100,000 dead.

And you think Trump deserves credit if its just 50,000 dead?

I wasn't just referring to healthcare BUT you might want to check what Obama said and did concerning the ACA and what the actual experts in the field said. There is a reason that it helped exacerbate the issues with rural hospitals and medicare AND the opioid crisis.

Its interesting to break down the numbers on this virus at this point.

- NY and NJ have roughly 8% of the entire population of the country
- today they currently have 46% of all the reported cases in the country (Which has gone down some over the last few days)
- they currently are reporting 56% of the deaths

- If New York were its own country they would currently be 2nd behind the US in total cases confirmed.
- 6th globally in total deaths
