Gun control debate (merged)

You are really out of place in this thread. Not saying I agree or disagree with your takes (don’t want to read older posts). I am a gun owner and do encourage other people to practice gun safety but other than that, stock them up responsibly. Now what are your feelings on the proper handling of tofu in the organic grocery outlets nationwide? Thanks in advance BN!
This thread needs people from both sides or it is just an NRA convention. There are some people out there who actually want reasonable restrictions on the purchase of firearms believe it or not. I also think tofu, like anything else at the grocery right now, should be handled very carefully due to the pandemic (aka the "hoax" to the reds on here).

Homophobic too? In addition to racist and xenophobic. Your checking all the boxes, huh? Just remember, you need a gun to feel safe and I don't, so we both know who that makes the scared one.

What are "reasonable restrictions"? What about them makes them "reasonable"? What difference, at this point, would it make?

The last part of this argument always bothers me, which is hey it will be really hard to change anything so let's just not bother trying. With that logic, nothing would ever get accomplished in this country, which I realize would be perfectly fine for a majority of the people on this board.

Loosening regulations is the only change we need.

How convenient that you obviously over looked the first part of "this argument", i. e., "What are 'reasonable' restrictions'"? "What about them makes them 'reasonable'"?

I would guess that means you have got nothing.

As usual, you just want to throw some crap sounding talking points that you read or heard somewhere and repeat them like a mindless parrot, all under the guise of bringing a different "perspective" for all of us to gather in awe at your profound perspicacity.

"What difference, at this point would it make?" To make that last part clear, so that even you can't miss the implication as you obviously have, what effect would these "reasonable restrictions" have had on past gun (and future) violence incidents? Try and be specific as in particular incidents that have made the headlines, for instance.

One would think that a 40 year old lawyer wouldn't shy away from this golden opportunity to bring forth to all the mindless heathens, your solutions regarding the right to keep and bear arms debate. Unless of course, your aren't a 40 year old lawyer and you have no deep thoughts and bon mots about this subject.

Go ahead, change my mind.

I am wondering why it's not racist to reasonably restrict one right but not another? Its racist to want ID checks for votes, but not racist to want ID checks, background checks, wait periods, number limitations etc on guns? It's not a logical step.

if we could agree to the same standard for ALL rights I would be willing to listen. That would at least be logical. If you restrict one more than another you are creating tiers, which has no lawful support that I know of.

Imo we already have similar restrictions on them, cant hurt anyone, cant use them to lie to our favor, cant take others away, etc. So if we want more on one they have to be applied to all.

"Reasonable" is whatever makes HIM feel safe and secure. In other words, no more guns for anyone except his beloved government.

OK fair enough. Care to elaborate on reasonable restrictions?

We already have reasonable restrictions on firearm purchases.

I however immediately tune out liberals who use the words "reasonable" and "Common Sense" when trying to discuss the 2A.

Have you learned nothing from this current episode? The government enacts orders and laws that most people abide by but a section of society continues to do what it wants. Thinking more laws will fix things is a pipe dream.

Reasonable restrictions regarding guns and gun ownership already exist. Why do you pretend that they don’t?
