My fiancé is a high school history teacher. She also is over the senior prom. She’s understandably devastated for those seniors. Also, her granddaughter lives with us and was looking forward to a historical tour around Georgia next month.
Meanwhile, I’ll continue to go to work.

I am in this boat. I have rental. I have a commercial loan which is backed by the 5 properties. My bank is allowing me to move to interest only payments for up to 3 months. If this goes beyond, I do not know what we or my tenants will do. Thankfully not all of them are out of work due to this thing.

That logic works as long as they think/know there is something being held back. But if you say Trump's admin wouldn't purposefully leave something out, and the Dems wouldn't know about it, I'd say I believe you aren't being completely candid.

It would seem unlikely that if they could get away with playing the "WE didn't know what THEY did at the time" card they wouldn't, don't you think? Has there been any "we weren't informed" statements? As others have pointed out the odds that there wouldn't be grandstanding on the "if only we'd known" platform seem pretty much nil.

If no one knew, how do you explain Senators selling of stocks after they were briefed in January. Obviously, someone knew something.

I wasn’t in the Coronavirus talks and I sold stock back around the end of January or beginning of February..... it was starting to spread.... Italy declared a national emergency and trump shut down travel with China..... there was all kinds of clues the market would take a dive.... maybe not as steep as it ended up going but definitely signs to sell stock. Even though I am not in any Coronavirus meetings with high government officials...... I am studying as to what I want to buy before the world stabilizes again.... I do feel if they broke the law then I hope they go to jail.

It's not trivial at all. Can you imagine a senior year of high school without a prom? That will become the reality for a lot of these kids in a few weeks. It's a real shame.

In what way could his response been improved? The CDC was offering to go to China and assist. They were denied several times. The CDC set up passenger screenings in ports of entry once it was known the virus spread through person contact. He was briefed with his team on Jan 26 or 29 and gave them unwavering public support and confidence. International travel restrictions were put into place. Decisions on shelter at home and essential-only services were left to each state or local jurisdiction.

It could be improved because "orange man bad."

I think the response was fine....they monitored it.... then shut down travel to China.... started shutting down travel to other areas....planned to self quarantine any symptoms or any positive tests..... spread is worse than even they thought and starting everything down.... The effect of this shutdown will be felt for years to come

This is what worries me the most and is exactly why I have been so critical of Trump. His dismissiveness, his calling the State Department the "Deep State," and crap like that just feeds this narrative that the virus isn't that big a threat.

Fauci is probably getting those non trust attacks due to his adoration letters to Hills. Kissing the ring of the Beast will garner that reaction most of the time and has nothing to do with POTUS as folks hated her before Trump.

Serious question: Has anyone heard any updates on whether the anti-malaria cocktail is having good continued success? I know there was the preliminary study out of France saying it worked well and there's the Hasidic doctor in Brooklyn who is anecdotally touting good results. Just wondering if we have any more studies out yet.
