Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I am in this boat. I have rental. I have a commercial loan which is backed by the 5 properties. My bank is allowing me to move to interest only payments for up to 3 months. If this goes beyond, I do not know what we or my tenants will do. Thankfully not all of them are out of work due to this thing.
Tough spot to be in. That sucks, feel for you.

My own personal belief on why it is best to pay cash for rentals.... times like this...

USDA along with Grocery stores, seems like a good start. Is it going to be Trump's fault? Geez, you already that sure he's gonna fail?
So grocery stores are going to give food away? Or am I incorrect in thinking the conversation was about feeding people who can't afford to buy groceries because they're out of work and not getting paid?

My boat is that my lease is up in May. I applied to a place back in early March. Still havent heard from them and cant get in contact. If they are shut down, and I think my current office is too, how am I supposed to transition?

Can you find out who the management company is? Go to apartment guide and look up the property, the management company is usually listed. Call/email their home office.

As I say:

* By around March 10 or so the news itself should have prevented public officials from promoting travel and tourism, close contact, etc. At a bare minimum by then they should have at least been cautioning against it, or telloing people to slow down and think it through.

* If any public official -- of either party and at any level -- made such comments or encouraged people to be out and about AFTER they were briefed on it -- then they should be held to account.

Did Trump fill Nancy in on the Coronavirus task force "intelligence"? I think I recall him saying he didn't trust Dems with "classified info".

Probably just me, but I feel like the press is just giddy with excitement on getting to report another national crisis. I genuinely don't think they want people to die, but they certainly don't mind the sensationalism behind it all and will highlight anything they can.

Anything to hit Trump with, they will take gladly. I mean, I know he’s an egotistical pri#k...but he is still the President.

Are you suggesting the Speaker of the House doesn't get intelligence reports?

They love this ****.

"If it's fire, flood or blood it leads".

I think hitting Trump with it is a bonus. They just love the sensationalism. Every new piece of news is another crisis and critically important....but they won't ever miss a commerical break or sponsor check.

It's just sickening. Just report the news, in context, and without the exclamation points.

USDA handles food stamps, vouchers etc. Grocery stores sell food. Or am I incorrect that my idea might be a decent starting point?

Well, there is a reason those briefings are now considered classified. Trumpsters will accept that decision at face value. But I think everyone has a pretty good idea of why he doesn't want us to see what he was told, when, and how he reacted.

I think the media is to blame for some of the paranoia and depression people are feeling. I mean I can’t watch FOX Business or CNBC and not worry about my job...the media could care less about my job.

I see you saying it, but still question whether or not you'd actually call out a Dem for doing it? I'm too young to be this cynical.

So the whole nation is going on food stamps, just like that. I think you're way over simplifying things.

The drama of it certainly sells newspapers, clicks, or tv viewership. The factual part of it is necessary.

That the former seems to drive the way in which things get covered in this country is much more a sad commentary on the attention span of the average American than it is a reflection of how the media "wants" to operate.

And when they don't? It has been two weeks and we haven't heard a peep about what they( Government) plan to do. To many people pointing fingers at each other about what happened instead of working together to stop what is about to happen.

If the government turns up AWOL, it's on us.. How we choose to handle it will say a lot about us as a society.

We know members of Congress were involved in these meetings because the whole selling of stock scandal that's developing comes from these now classified meetings. Are you suggesting the Speaker of the House does not receive intelligence briefings? Sounds far-fetched to me.

Sure I would.

I am not picking the March 10 date for a particular reason. Its just generally about when I think it became clear that things were escalating here. Might be a week earlier. But that is as to the general point that everyone in a position of leadership should have been pulling the reigns in.

I would be most angry with anyone -- be they a Democratic Senator or Republican President -- who got briefed and had reason to know what was coming -- who would still be that irresponsible.

Wouldn’t that make it worse...... she was encouraging something that could be dangerous without having any of the intel.

I'm saying that if after she got those briefings she was encouraging people to travel and go to crowded places, not take precautions, then yes, she should be held to account, too. I just can't speak right now to what she knew when.
