When do you expect the economy to start roaring? How do you want to measure a roaring economy, stock market, unemployment, GDP?You're right. After it's under control people who have been just sitting st home will probably just keep doing that. No one will be hiring. No one will be spending money. Full economic collapse.
Just kidding. You're wrong and your grasp of the economy and the pandemic are about as firm as a bag of wet slop.
I have wondered if isolation prevents the build up of herd immunity, and if we're screwed no matter what course of action we take?
Let's say the economy stays down, and as a result, Biden gets elected. Does anyone, and I'd like to hear the honest opinion of those on the left, think Biden rebuilds the economy? I don't it myself, but I guess it could happen. But if it doesn't, it probably results in Republicans retaking the WH in 2024.You're right. History has shown the dangers of exposing an isolated community to diseases their bodies have built no immunization towards. An example would be Native Americans being more vulnerable to diseases brought from Europe when the New World was being settled.I have similar thoughts. There is probably a degree of legitimacy to the idea of letting this thing run thru the population and letting the chips fall, so we then have better defenses in the future..

The smear is imbedded in the tweet. Yes, the CDC's first announcement was Jan 8. I copied and pasted the press release. Should our troops mobilize because there is a local outbreak of pneumonia in China? What makes it a smear? The date of the CDC's first announcement is accurate. You don't contest the dates of the golfing and rallies. You don't contest the date when Trump himself publicly acknowledged it as a real problem. Trump's a sucky president. That's a smear when the facts aren't there to support it. And an accurate statement when they are.
Obama golfed too much though....so golfing is a problem, or it isn't a problem. Are there a different set of metrics for different people? The smear is imbedded in the tweet. His golf games have nothing to do with his governance. Are we to believe that he isn't governing while golfing? I wish that were the case with all presidents so I could say prayers that they golf 24/7.
You don't like the man. That's fine. I don't like him either. But what you share here is no different than what you dislike about him. Lies, distortion, trolling, are what both of you do. Perhaps you're just angry because he does it better than you.
I read that Newark is on lockdown, and you folks can't travel from town to town. Stay safe up there, Mr. O.ARTS
A Critic’s Notebook article on Friday about the painting “Saint Rosalie Interceding for the Plague-stricken of Palermo” at the Met refers incorrectly to the first location of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was 681 Fifth Avenue, not 128 West 14th Street. The West 14th Street address was the museum’s second location.
An article on Friday about “Top Gun” incorrectly defined the term RIO. It stands for radar intercept officer, not radio intercept officer.

A picture caption with an article on Page 32 about the Stellenbosch Triennale misidentified a member of the Asafo Black collective from Ghana. He is Jeffrey Otoo, not Daniel Mensah
Just wanted to give you a shout out. I couldn't sleep last night and sifted through this thread starting with Bham's OP. You were early in on this thread along with some others. I was impressed and the information you guys were finding and bringing to the board. In hindsight, much of it was prescient.Agreed. This is the example my wife and I discussed weeks ago.
I have to wonder if we are training this virus that it needs to be able to stay dormant longer.
Alright, who in the hell took that ball gag out?Just wanted to give you a shout out. I couldn't sleep last night and sifted through this thread starting with Bham's OP. It was also interesting to look at the responses in real time as news was coming out. Even LG had some good posts before things got partisan.
Not as far as I'm concerned. Golf 24/7 if you wanna. The only president who curtailed his golf was Bush because it was a bad look in a time of war. In retrospect, I wish we could have had his golf game instead of the war.Obama golfed too much though....so golfing is a problem, or it isn't a problem. Are there a different set of metrics for different people?
Inpeech Fotey Fie?There is no metric in which Seoul, South Korea has a population of 38 million people. There is a metric in which Tokyo, Japan has 37.4 million and I cited where it can be found. You are just arguing for the hell of it and it's annoying.
It is apparent that Trump looked up Seoul and confused a number listed in reference to it's elevation with it's population... which is just stupid.
