Holy ....
I'm not sure when the peak of Covid19 will be but we may have found the pinnacle for melodrama
I'll keep all the genocidal sociopathic historical events in mind..
but gonna go ahead and see if we can pull thru this ~ hangout at home for 2 weeks policy, before putting my rebel against the evil empire britches on.
We were going to have to pay it regardless. This route (early mitigation) is an investment to avoid a larger economic crisis.I didn’t say anything about caring for people’s family. I care for my elder mother. I still think you can’t shut down the economy and revoke rights for a mere 1.3-2 percent mortality rate. This is long picture here. All this money the government is pulling out of the “budget” is not good for our grandchildren. Someone has to pay for this.

I understand your point. That’s a very high number and it truly saddening. But think if we go into a Great Depression, that’s not good for 330 million people That live in the US. 4 million or 330 million?A *mere* 1.3 to 2.0? Wow. If left to grow exponentially, herd immunity would stop the case growth at between 33% and 71% of the population based on current R0 estimates. Your “mere” 1.3 to 2.0 would kill between 1.4M to 4.7M people...in the US. Fortunately the actual mortality shouldn’t be quite that high.
If my lungs were not so scarred up, then I wouldn't be near as concerned for myself as far as mortality goes. I just figure like you, that since everybody has to get groceries and supplies, that eventually herding literally EVERYBODY through the same limited corridors will be how this infection spreads.Feel the same way about eventually catching this crap. I'm right there with you on being immunocompromised. I'm not convinced quarantining is gonna work. Will it slow it down? Yes. But I don't think it will stop the spread completely. I'll have to make a grocery run or something at some point, get exposed, and then we'll see. I know the outlook for people like us is supposedly grim, but if it happens, what am I supposed to do? Not much I can do.
You want some more great news from our life?..Just found out friday that my father in law has cancer..on top of everything else that has happened, and the freakshow disaster that the world has turned into...at this point I am just..We’ve all had our downturns...you most recently in the worst of times. That shows real strength.
