With a 2 percent mortality rate (which is very high, most report 1.3) at 5,000 people dying that would mean we’d have 250,000 cases. We are only at 2,400. No reason at all to shut down economy. Thank god the media and leftist didn’t have so much access to make sheep so scared when H1N1 hit us hard.
Quit calling people who are concerned for their family's safety "sheep." It makes you look callous and dumb.

First off..I am doing the best I can, and I am probably going to eventually catch this crap.

Second..All I am saying is that I hope all of you agree that the reach of government has got to be limited by REAL law.
Feel the same way about eventually catching this crap. I'm right there with you on being immunocompromised. I'm not convinced quarantining is gonna work. Will it slow it down? Yes. But I don't think it will stop the spread completely. I'll have to make a grocery run or something at some point, get exposed, and then we'll see. I know the outlook for people like us is supposedly grim, but if it happens, what am I supposed to do? Not much I can do.

I think I feel confident in saying... We do.

I also feel confident in saying the powers federal and state officials have under various declorations of emergency, are designed as temporary... And it would take some seriously strange circumstances for them to become permanent.. By any definition.

I'll remind you Palpatine used emergency powers to take over the Republic and form the Empire.

Should I have used blue font? Hopefully you know I'm joking.

I didn’t say anything about caring for people’s family. I care for my elder mother. I still think you can’t shut down the economy and revoke rights for a mere 1.3-2 percent mortality rate. This is long picture here. All this money the government is pulling out of the “budget” is not good for our grandchildren. Someone has to pay for this.

The best history lesson Star Wars can teach is they should have never made the sequels.
It was a really poor story from the very beginning. The writer of it betrayed a fascination with monarchism which I would have thought would be anathema to Americans. Like I said story-wise it was never anywheare near the quality of the Game of thrones.

I will rip your whore eyes out if you bad mouth the originals!!! The original three are the classics of my childhood. Cinematic masterpieces!!

The rest of them were not good.

But I liked "The Mandalorian".

I have spoken.

A lot of the people of faith that I know, particularly those in the high risk demographic, feel obligated to attend church if the doors are open. If they aren't told to stay home either by those who run the church in question or the government, they're going to be at church.

The grocery store comparison is a little weak to me because it's a necessary risk. The risk of gathering for a lot of other purposes is unnecessary or can be mitigated by the creation of small groups.

I'll change my opinion as soon as the church allows me to eat hymnals and pews.

Communion?

Plenty who believe and jump on every little thing they hear who are sheep to the media. This thing is serious and we should be safe. See what gets shared on social media and some people are very naive. Still hoping models are wrong and things get better quickly.

But that's the point! Flatten the curve. It's a manageable disease if people can be cared for. But if they have to choose who to treat while sending others home to die, then we could be in a situation similar to Italy's or Spain's in parts of our country.
