I really don't think it matters. I don't believe that is used in there calculations. I looked at it the other day and it was very promising, all the resources were more than adequate. Looked today and the numbers are much different. I think it is looking at trends. Our cases and deaths jumped bigtime today.

edit: we had ten new deaths today and over 400 new cases reported today.

A big part of that was the Gallatin nursing home that has over 100 cases.

Don't dare go to a church holding a service but go ahead to Walmart enmasse to get all the tp you can..................Like I have stated, I think any church holding services right now is foolish. But rushing out to a Walmart, Target, Kroger or wherever and crossing paths with many other shoppers and then going thru checkouts with people back to back can be considered just as foolish if you think about. So we going to start arresting store mgrs if they don't have each customer at least 6' apart?
Not remotely the same and you know it.

meh. in college, he used ot piss me off. freaking fumbles in huge moments...i'm still not exactly thrilled with him against PSU in that citrus bowl game....

but, yeah, in the NFL, he proved much more capable than he did in college.
He could speak pterodactyl. So there's that.

So are we more concerned today about total reported cases rather than total and new deaths?

Because Italy still has the gold for the more important numbers.

US Italy
Newest Deaths +709 +837
Total Deaths 3850 12428

True to some extent. But the point I'm trying to make is just like churches foolishly holding services right now and 100's of people freely attend in some ways is no different than going to a walmart or other large store that's packed with customers can be about as foolish. But where does government and then law enforcement think they can step in and start potentially arresting people? I think it starts opening up some interesting discussions on freedoms, liberties, laws, mandates etc. I am not saying that these stores should be closed because they are essential businesses and I'm not saying people shouldn't be going to these stores. But make no mistake, you could get infected just as easily at walmart as you can at a church service. I just want and wish all people would use good judgement and common sense and hope our gov't officials do the same.

Just tryin to bring this country a gold. We never lose olympics, of any sort.

Lolol...I wasn't mad at you, I just know that giant rockslides are usually started by pebbles.

The church choir that met a couple of weeks ago in Washington state prompted a Covid-19 outbreak of more than 60 people and 2 deaths. At the time of the choir rehearsal, there were no known cases in that county.

I think about all the healthcare workers who are trying to stay as safe as possible. Much harder to do if hospitals get overrun and they run out of appropriate equipment. I think about my 86 year-old grandmother. She's isolated, but what if she needed to go in for something routine and is exposed. I think about the younger people who would otherwise probably be fine but can't get in to see a doctor, again because hospitals are overrun. I think about all the people who are required to work through this pandemic and their chances of exposure increasing because the community didn't do their part. Not to mention, the faster we slow this, the sooner we can all get back to some normalcy.

The recommendations are to protect everyone in the community. If people can't be responsible, then the government has every right to protect it's citizens. You're right - it's a slippery slope. I just think you're focused on the wrong hill.

I totally agree that people are still out and about too much. My local Weigel's is absolutely jumping. I did pop in Kroger today but avoided getting too close. We have been picking up and staying in the car.

This is fascinating. I can’t imagine football and basketball season overlapping in this manner. Broadcast TV rights would be a cluster. Weekend Basketball games, assuming it’s conference play, would have to be moved to Friday nights and Sunday to make it work for fans and for TV, I’d have to believe.

They will probably try to reschedule the UT v Florida game to the end of the season because Mrs. Mullen caused a second wave of CV in the swamp...

A lot of the people of faith that I know, particularly those in the high risk demographic, feel obligated to attend church if the doors are open. If they aren't told to stay home either by those who run the church in question or the government, they're going to be at church.

The grocery store comparison is a little weak to me because it's a necessary risk. The risk of gathering for a lot of other purposes is unnecessary or can be mitigated by the creation of small groups.

I'll change my opinion as soon as the church allows me to eat hymnals and pews.

I think some of you are choosing to ignore the slippery slope we've stumbled upon. An overreaching government can be dangerous and oppressive, and is something our FFs fought against.

It boggles my kind that people do not see what we are saying. This is exactly what I have been trying to say all day..

This has to be something that is extremely limited by REAL legislated law.

Pretty much everybody now believes that the internment of Americans of Japanese descent in WW2 was a horrible unjust thing...but in 1941 it was "for the welfare and common good of the people"..and most people accepted it...just like they are now.
