Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I’ve been saying all along this will be close to the flu and been blown way out of proportion.

The funny thing about all this is we don’t have a vaccine, but it is compared to the flu, for which we have the vaccine for.

I know there are multiple strands of the flu.
Well we are up to H5N1 now pls several more.

I'm in awe that people think the gov't should have the right to tell property owners that (a) they have no right to the financial benefit of renting their property, and (b) they must allow someone else to occupy said property. I'm not joking. What has this nation come to?
I'm with you. I'm okay with freezing all evictions, and waiving all late fees. But the idea you just all the sudden don't have to pay for rent is insane.

But there's people who believe that the government should buy out their student loan debt that they explicitly agreed to, so not all that surprising.

The government threatened law suits for price gouging for every n95 mask my employer sells. We were selling them for $17 online in a world where you cannot get them, and now we are not selling them either.

If Coronavirus has taught us anything, it's that we don't live in a free country and remember that you all voted for the people leading this circus.

There is nobody to vote for that is any different

Luther is, too. He's just suffering from TDS and is chronically communist.
He's stubborn as a mule with his opinions. But you can see beyond the rhetoric...he wants things to be better. He also is doing a great job raising his kids; and that is noteworthy.
He's raising communists? How is that good?

I can't believe I'm saying it, but I agree with you. It doesn't make good economic sense either. In giving renters a free pass during this crisis, the government is robbing Peter to pay Paul. It means more money in the pocket of the renter, but less money for the landlord (who presumably also has a family with financial obligations to meet). I wouldn't have a problem with placing a moratorium on evictions and foreclosures during this crisis, but rent and mortgage payments should still be due per the terms of contractual agreements.

I'm not watching but picking up from Twitter that the press conference today is mostly serious. As in, what they should have had one month ago.
