Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

A confident and poised leader, when confronted with questions that make him face his prior mistakes, would either admit them and turn the question by saying "and here is what we've done since" or, if he thought the question unfair, say so and explain why.

Trump's style of berating the press for even asking the question, then personally insulting them, gives away his ego-based character flaws.
Too bad we don't still have Zero. HE NEVER made mistakes, and the press kissed his ass daily.

This is really scary and the recovery is going to be tough but I don’t foresee it lasting for too awful long. If it lasts past a year I’d be surprised.

The most interesting thing for me will be how much do we decrease our dependence on foreign goods? More particularly with China. We could see a shift back to domestic dependence that could really generate a spark.

And.... he gone.

I saw an interview with a doc in NYC at one of the heavy hit hospitals and he's taking it as a preventive. Fauci said he'd prescribe it if a patient was at risk of death.

I don't know what all the hubbub is. The cocktail seems perfectly safe if taken as prescribed. The drugs have been used safely for years. Best case is it works. Worst case is it doesn't and you're where you'd be without it.

I think Zep and Luther are really good about discussing issues. Luther is way to the left but generally doesn't get into squabbles. Zep is more moderate. I don't agree with him politically very much but he is a very likable poster. However, there are some people and some days where people just want to argue...and they will argue about anything.

Zep is a good dude that leans more right than he wants to admit.

Exactly.

From a medical standpoint there really isn't.

Politically is a different story.

Well since we are now at "save every life" stage in the political world, are we going to allow this behavior for people with terminal illnesses?

I am betting we dont. Their stories dont incite enough fear.

An unbelievable number. I'll treat this like I do the covid19 estimates and choose to believe it will not be as bad as they say it could be.

There will be drastic changes in how people work after this is all over so I wouldn't bet that number is far off. In my little insignificant part of the world I can see a couple employees that I'm questioning the need for. Mainly because 1 is taking the "work from home" option as a vacation and the other from some efficiencies we've found.

I get that no drug (or drug combination) is ever perfectly safe. I'm sure there are risks with this cocktail as well. And you want to go through studies to see its efficacy and safety. But how great are the risks for drugs that have been widely and safely prescribed for years? Can't be that bad I wouldn't imagine.
