Maddow ridiculed for claiming the hospital ship Mercy was weeks away

Ouch .. weren’t we just talking about Rachel’s journalistic integrity?

Yeah, Stew, be careful with that idea. If it wasn't built to hold gas, it won't have the ability to safely let expanding vapors vent due to pressure / temperature changes. No point in freaking your neighbors out with an unexpected mushroom cloud, right?

Thanks for the advice.. it's not airtight, has a little flap lid on it with no seals... but yeah, i'd rather put in kerosene, really. It never really gets that low, though.

Just paid $0.95 per gallon for gas.
Kroger: 1.35 - .40 for reward points.
I filled up my gas tank 4 days ago and the tank is still full. Commute to work and back home are the only routes in my routine right now. I haven't paid 0.95 for gas since I was a SOPH in HS back in 1999. Oh Lawd!

I got mine last week while at Kroger. Had to have lawnmower gas. I got gas for $1.69 then.
Gasoline hasn't been that low around here in like 40 years.
I never dreamed I would see it that low again. My oldest daughter just drove from Atlanta to Houston Sunday and she said it cost about $30 in gas.

When we talk about gas -vs- diesel for marine propulsion systems, I tell the students "Flip a lit cigarette into a 55-gallon drum of diesel fuel, and the cigarette will go out. Flip it into the same barrel full of gasoline, and you'll get to play a fun game called Shaking Hands With Jesus."

I've demo'd it with a 5-gallon bucket. Of diesel.

Here in MO people have been ignoring the CDC guidelines. This was the result.

I saw that they closed Signal Point here and the police were turning away large groups from Atlanta and Nashville that had driven here to hike. You know, the places with hundreds of cases and you just spent two hours in a car together.

There’s a reason Sherman tanks were known as Ronson’s or Zippo’s because they lit the first time every time. German tanks rarely burned.

Normally the two cheapest states I’ve seen for regular gasoline ( normally ) around the country has always been South Carolina and Arkansas. I know there’s nothing normal now but I wonder what the prices are like there now .

Oh yeah. I've had my episodes with gasoline. Hardly anything makes me cringe more than someone that "knows what they're doing" when insisting it's the thing that gets a brush pile burning.

My wife showed me pictures of a former daycare teacher for our kids celebrating her 25th birthday in a hot tub full of friends. The zoomers want you dead, boomers.

Without the pic I call BS!

All the (presumably hot) girls I've seen out grocery shopping have had masks on.. could just be an opportunity to accent the positives though. It's refreshing to have the college girls around for a change, at any rate.
