It was really our only place here where you could make your own salad...the rest of our eateries are like bars, trendy bistros, or kinda expensive and having an autistic son atmosphere is important because of sensory overload

I always said if I had the $, I'd have a place near Pace/Gulf Breeze, somewhere in that area (might still when I win the Lotto or something). I love saltwater fishing, and I'll never forget the way they just live-line minnows down there for Kings and Spanish off the piers (unlike the "pin rigging" with two rods like you see in Georgia and the Carolinas, which I had done a lot of). I fished that live-lining way once, at Pensacola Beach Pier, and we had a blast. I had to get used to the idea of a "first shot" pier. We stayed 3-4 days a few years back, and there was a hotel there (looking at Google maps might've been the Hilton?) where they had all you could eat oysters on Wednesday nights. That's a great part of the country for sure. I don't see how anybody works down there; I'd fish every day. I do remember the locals there call "alewives" "LYs." I was like what the heck?!?! HAHA

Zep you are right not all of you in the left are. But people who are constantly looking for any reason to cast the president in a negative shadow to include hoping for a recession or depression during times when people are dying because of a virus that originated in China in secrecy are stupid and evil.

There are bad actors on both sides during this (and at all other times) the federalist comes to mind from the right as really making an ass of itself in a way that is dangerous while daily beast and the other outlets trying to create wedge issues between Trump and Fauci is pretty gross.

The thing they all have in common is trying to spin this to some political advantage for their side at a time when it’s just not appropriate.

Painting with a broad brush and calling people stupid and evil based on the bad behavior of the worst impulses of other people under their tent is an abandonment of personal responsibility in favor of guilt by association and also fails to recognize that, having just been given a choice, most Democrats have chosen decency over the negativity and angst of the Sanders movement.

My advice is to maybe just learn to recognize when you’re reading something like that from either side. Don’t share it, don’t defend it, and do your best to call it out from either side when it is shared here.

This was Thursday and he was telling me his sister (or SIL can’t remember) works at that nursing home and is sick waiting for her test results. Short story an employee started coming down with something a week or so back and asked to take off and management said no, they were too short staffed with people calling out.
A friend of mine is in the sanitary supply business and said that place is filthy to begin with. He said the original owners kept it immaculate for years and as soon as they sold out it went to hell.

Excellent post.
I think all of Trump's "live" comments should be on an hour delay. Once they edit out all of the false and/or inflammatory statements, the few words remaining may actually make sense and almost appear presidential.
No President (or any normal person) in history would brag about ratings during a press conference about a national crisis.
Trump is not normal and should certainly never be normalized (for Weezer).
lol I love how you whine about "normalizing" Trump when you normalized the Clintons. Normal is relative to who you compare him to, which at this point, would be other Presidents. Was JFK and his lurid affairs normal? How about LBJ and his overt racism? Normal? Do we really need to discuss Nixon? Was Clinton porking his chubby intern normal? Bush and his WMDs? And I won't even get into Obama because we'll never agree. If you want to compare Trump to the majority of society, he is not normal. If you want to compare him to his predecessors in the Oval Office, well then he's more of the same. I think that would be considered normal. He's a pompous jerk, no doubt about it, but that's fairly common for most people we elect.

And God forbid I get into you guys normalizing Hillary. Biggest snow job of our times. That woman is far worse than Trump will ever be, yet you love to run with your right wing propaganda conspiracy theory.

Yes... that guy will be along later to tell you that every politician does this.
Does every politician say "what difference does it make" when talking about lost American lives? But I bet you defended that.

Does every politician mention Nielsen ratings? Nope. Unique to Trump. Does every politician try to spin to make themselves look good? Absolutely. If you pay any attention to politics, you know that to be true. The way you guys drone on and on with your Trump hate, it really is pathetic. The guy's a narcissistic ass hole with a big ego. No one's denying that. But you guys feel the need to pick apart every word, ignoring his actions for the most part, dismissing several that were previously criticized though they turned out to be correct, to get across your complete and total Trump hate. You don't like him. We get it. Don't vote for him. But at least have the decency to come at this from both sides. He's made screw ups. He's had diarrhea of the mouth. But he's also done some things right.

You guys are the people you claim to hate with your absolute intolerance.

Any comment on Pelosi's comments about Trump killing people or nah?
Vast right wing propaganda campaign. Signed, luther

Of course they're not going to call out their own. They're a bunch of hypocrites with a Trump hate hard on, using a national crisis to get their rocks off.

A confident and poised leader, when confronted with questions that make him face his prior mistakes, would either admit them and turn the question by saying "and here is what we've done since" or, if he thought the question unfair, say so and explain why.

Trump's style of berating the press for even asking the question, then personally insulting them, gives away his ego-based character flaws.
Is that why the Democratic nominee will be Biden? lmao

Anyone with half a brain knows we haven't elected a true leader in some time. Biden will engage in spin just as much as Trump. Both parties are broken and neither side is choosing good candidates. People need to wake up to that realization instead of pretending their side is alright.

Every President gets those. I acknowledge that the press are generally liberals and so are, for lack of a better word, "tougher" on Republican presidents. That is so in the scheme of things.

But .....

1) A good President would accept the challenge and give reasoned answers. He wouldn't take the bait. A President that does this earns respect. It is reality, so why not embrace it and use it to your advantage?

2) Trump is the worst at dealing with it. He cannot stand to be questioned. He cannot stand to be criticized. He denies his own words. He lashes out with personal insult. And while it satisfies his base, he already has them. All he is doing is alienating everyone else who can see, right in front of them, Trump's own words coming back to haunt him.
I agree with most of number two. The part I disagree with is that it alienates him from everyone else. His supporters are still going to love him and his detractors are still going to hate him. For those in between, it will alienate some, but some, recognizing the liberal bias he faces(that you even admit to) will take that in to consideration and when combined with his actions, they'll support him in the end. It's not as clear cut as you want to paint it.

But he is often his own worst enemy. Totally agree with that.

Only with Trump. It's not needed with normal people. (Only need to use it every 300 years or so)

You need help.

You're insane. I'd say you have the IQ of a rutabaga but that's an insult to vegetables.

You'll obviously do anything to rationalize "Dear Leader's" mistakes simply because you can't admit he made a mistake.

And, before you ask, his mistake was making ANY statement about things he knows nothing about. He should have left it to Fauci and others who clearly know more about it.

You're a jackass.......

And feel free to mod-hammer me for being personally insulting. I'll take it as a compliment.
Was it your objective to come across as a complete dumbass? If so, kudos. You're doing a damn good job.

I respect that and we can discuss any issue but when I am called racist for my beliefs for 3 years with zero to back the claim imma call bs to me that is stupid. Impeachment for 3 years was tremendously useless. It was in my opinion stupid for Nancy Pelosi to hold those AOI for 30 plus days thereby clogging up Congress at a time that could have been better suited for debating this novel virus coming from China.
The complete embarrassment over the nomination of Brett Cavanaugh was evil. There was an orchestrated effort to destroy a man of decent character for what reason? The effort of dragging some poor lady to testify who let's all be honest may very well have experienced something very bad but this lady was 100% sure this guy was at fault but could not find anyone to corroborate her story. This is evil. There are North of 600 k abortions performed each year in this country from some one who believes that life begins at conception that is evil.

I think and have stated that I have no problem with people like Zep who debate their position and try to keep it light. But the constant nastiness from the left and the media is why people on the right are so dismissive of the left. No offense but when you try and compare the rights opposition to the left although somewhat hyperbolic it pales in comparison to the constant nastiness from People like Joe Scarborough stating on TV that the president is willing to let the greatest generation die when he simply said I hope our country can get back to normal on Easter you lose me.
No disrespect as I appreciated your thoughtful reply. You may be surprised that we aren't that far apart.

When it comes to the board, we only have a handful of actual liberals anyway. Luther is clearly delusional, Mick is an obvious troll, EL is a fire starter, and BB just tries too hard. I may be forgetting someone, but the rest aren't that bad. Even LG can be reasonable sometimes.

There use to be a lot of money in skilled nursing facilities....the government has been penny pinching them for years which has led to their decline...... it is why kindred healthcare sold all of their skilled nursing facilities.
