Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I know this is difficult for libs to accept but there is nothing wrong in trying to be positive and give people some hope cause goodness knows that we aren't getting it from the MSM.
I think right now the most important thing for the human experience is to display compassion, forgiveness, charity, and hope. Sounds hippyish but we are dealing with calamity. This is the message I sent my team two nights ago:

Team,

Let me start by thanking each and every one of you for the hard work, flexibility, dedication, and perseverance you all have delivered the past few weeks. I think we can all agree that this is the most difficult operating environment we have ever seen. I know this has not been easy on any of you. I am so blessed and grateful to work with such amazing leaders. With that said, I have one more extremely important ask for each of you. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF and YOUR TEAM. The following is how you do it:
· You only work 5 days a week. No coming in on your days off. This applies to everyone including the GM’s. We are in a marathon not a sprint. Unfortunately this will be the environment we operate in for the foreseeable future.
· You should not work more than 11 hours in a day. I walked through, with the GM team, how they have some more labor hours they can use. They should use them. It can be hard to believe, but if planned and staffed correctly, your team will achieve great things even when you leave. The expectation is 4.0 productivity. So for every 100 guests you feed you can use 25 total worked hours.
· Lead with compassion. That means compassion for the mistakes you yourself make and compassion for the team working under/with you. They are scared…just like you…They are tired…just like you…They are overworked…just like you…They want to feel fulfilled and rewarded for the work they do…just like you…They will make mistakes…just like you. I can think of no greater moment then right now where compassion, kindness, and forgiveness are critical to the human experience. I implore you to keep this front of mind. And I commit to each of you that I will do the same.
· Lastly, make sure we are following all cleaning and handwashing procedures 100% flawlessly 100% of the time.

Thank you again for the hard work you are doing each and every day in our restaurants. Be proud of what you are doing. It matters. We are working hard to save peoples jobs. While we may not personally know them, they have families too. By delivering we can keep these people for when this environment turns around, and it will, where we will have the opportunity to outclass our competitors by being better staffed to steal market share. Let us be known as the group of leaders who helped save (My edit here) and even Beth in accounting. We can do it because of each of you

Excellent post.
I think all of Trump's "live" comments should be on an hour delay. Once they edit out all of the false and/or inflammatory statements, the few words remaining may actually make sense and almost appear presidential.
No President (or any normal person) in history would brag about ratings during a press conference about a national crisis.
Trump is not normal and should certainly never be normalized (for Weezer).

The explanations I've seen, are that some select media outlets are not airing the press briefings live because they want an opportunity to vet some of the information being provided first. This has nothing to do with the health care professionals who are speaking, but of Trump's misinformation - and there has definitely been some. Your statement that "they're concerned it helps him with the public" reads like either something you would see in a Trump tweet or hear on Fox News... and speaking of Fox News, they actually cut away from the Coronavirus press conference yesterday, once Trump began boasting about Neilsen ratings and comparing himself to "The Bachelor" and "Monday Night Football" because they know that is not a good look for him.

Back to the main point here... what kind of person boasts about the Neilsen ratings of a press conference meant to discuss a pandemic which will cost many people their jobs and some people their lives? Not a very good one.

Yes, let's have the American Stasi sanitize things for us so we get just the right take.
Just no, you well-meaning fascists.

This will just push more viewers to watch Fox. The left is evil as well as stupid. I love the fact that after 3 plus years they think this bombshell racist crap is resonating with anyone outside the Dem party.

In just 5 days......

Trump dismissed coronavirus pandemic worry in January — now claims he long warned about it

March 12:It’s going to go away. ... The United States, because of what I did and what the administration did with China, we have 32 deaths at this point … when you look at the kind of numbers that you’re seeing coming out of other countries, it’s pretty amazing when you think of it.”

March 15: “This is a very contagious virus. It’s incredible. But it’s something that we have tremendous control over.”

March 16: “If you’re talking about the virus, no, that’s not under control for any place in the world.”

March 17: “I’ve always known this is a, this is a real, this is a pandemic … I’ve felt that it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic.”

You also have to consider the people who are voicing this position (at least those voicing it most visibly). These are generally the ultra-wealthy who (1) have no concerns about getting good medical treatment if they or their family members got it, and (2) can continue to socially isolate if the economy comes back on board during the outbreak.

Putting (1) and (2) together, it just looks like the elites who wanna march other people's kids off to war and death so they can reap the rewards of that.
Then there’s category #3 - normal people just trying to figure out when they will see some semblance of normal again. This isn’t political for everyone.

We aren't evil or stupid. We have different solutions to problems. We probably agree on more things than you realize.

Zep you are right not all of you in the left are. But people who are constantly looking for any reason to cast the president in a negative shadow to include hoping for a recession or depression during times when people are dying because of a virus that originated in China in secrecy are stupid and evil.

We had two in Johnson City. It was always one of my favorites. I haven't been there in a while, but (last I heard) the second one finally closed or was going to. That one was close to campus there at ETSU. I hate they are closing. Of the "brass and plants"-type restaurants, I always thought RT was the best of the bunch.

It was really our only place here where you could make your own salad...the rest of our eateries are like bars, trendy bistros, or kinda expensive and having an autistic son atmosphere is important because of sensory overload

...

You do understand the wealthy have much more to lose from letting the virus spread than a frozen economy, right? I'm pretty sure Bezos, Gates, and Buffett aren't sitting around wondering if they will be able to afford groceries next week.

But by all means, continue the mental gymnastics of acting like an economic winter affects the rich more than people who live paycheck to paycheck.

If you wanna hate the rich (while living in the top 10% by world standards), fine... But don't try to mask your greed with sympathy for the less fortunate, because it's obvious that ain't it.
