Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Trump told Hannity that he felt Cuomo was requesting an unnecessary number of ventilators. "I have a feeling that a lot of the numbers that are being said in some areas are just bigger than they are going to be. I don't believe you need 40,000 or 30,000 ventilators." Notice that Trump didn't say 'that you will need' 40,000 or 30,000 ventilators... he only says 'need'.

I also find it odd that you are splitting hairs in order to give a man the benefit of the doubt with a track record such as this:

President Donald Trump, speaking on January 22nd:

"We have it totally under control. It's one person coming in from China. We have it under control. It's going to be just fine."

President Donald Trump, speaking on March 17th:

"This is a pandemic. I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic."

Once again, Donald Trump is a brazen liar.

When can we look forward to you calling BDB a liar or having blood on his hands for telling New Yorkers this month (March) basically to weeks ago to go on living their life as normal?
We await your enlightening us. Accusing the President of splitting hairs while splitting hairs.

NY Times Editorial Board Demands Abortion Be Made ‘More Available During Pandemic, Not Less’

Leave it to The New York Times editorial board to use the current national crisis to call for “greater access” to abortion. In fact, they say the crisis has “underscored” this need. In a Sunday editorial, the Times points out that several states have deemed abortion a nonessential service and have “pushed to close abortion clinics or severely curtail access.” The editors write:

The “nonessential” bit is obvious nonsense and the delay a transparent attempt to put abortion out of reach for those who need it. As several major health care groups noted in a joint statement last week: “Abortion is an essential component of comprehensive health care. It is also a time-sensitive service for which a delay of several weeks, or in some cases days, may increase the risks or potentially make it completely inaccessible. The consequences of being unable to obtain an abortion profoundly impact a person’s life, health and well-being.”
The editors opine that “state leaders know that once an abortion clinic closes for any significant period, it becomes difficult to reopen.” I would argue the same holds true for any business. And now that millions of businesses across America, large and small, have been forced to close indefinitely, affecting the livelihoods of countless millions of Americans, it’s not too much to ask that abortion clinics be closed as well.

In light of the forced closing of abortion clinics in some states, the op-ed calls for greater access to alternatives such as mifepristone, an abortion-inducing drug, which they say could be mailed to the patient. They also suggest that political and regulatory obstacles must be removed “to make widespread at-home access to reproductive health care possible.”

I’m not defending trumps lying. I know he lies. I’m highlighting the media’s.

They will be that high, but only until this 'my ego is bigger than yours' attitude from State Governors stops and employers can recall the workers

Wait, what? You think that Trump, who has repeatedly been wrong about this, has a better grasp on the need to have people stay home and away from potential infections versus governors of their own states? You honestly believe that, if asked, Fauci and Birx would say nah, go on in to work?

UK’s Boris Johnson ‘Furious’ With China, Says There Could Be A ‘Reckoning’ For China’s Coronavirus ‘Disinformation Campaign’

The United Kingdom’s government, led by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, is reportedly “furious” with China, and has pledged a “reckoning” for the country’s “disinformation campaign,” which UK officials believe downplayed the number of Chinese coronavirus cases by “15 to 40” times.

Business Insider reports that Johnson’s government is the first to suggest that China could face economic consequences for the coronavirus, which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

“UK government officials are accusing China of spreading disinformation about the severity of the coronavirus outbreak in its borders,” the outlet says, adding that officials believe China’s reported number of coronavirus cases — just over 81,000 — is far too low, and that the real number of cases could be “15 to 40 times” official Chinese reports.

People on Twitter are actively mocking Trump on the report that unemployment numbers could be worse than the Great Depression and that 40 million people will be unemployed... I don’t know what to make of it.
Could happen. But unlike then once the virus is dealt with everything will come screaming back. So it's basically a temporary problem with a tangible fix down the road.

Fauci or Birx do not have a job scope that has anything to do with facets other than the medical part of this. Wtf do you expect them to say? Dumbarse.

Awesome idea. Kill 2 birds with one pandemic

We really need C19 cases and deaths rates to drop.
Baby killing needs to stay level or preferably increase.

Well, If governors of each state had their way, they would their state be declared the #1 neediest state in the union and would have the federal government send everything including the kitchen sink to them.
So yeah I think Trump needs to decide based on information from the entire country where to send resources and whether states need to restrict the movement of people to keep from infecting more and more people.

I'd expect them to say, stay home as much as possible. And in hot spots, the governors are right to issue such orders.

And if pressed, I imagine they would say they have recommended as much to Trump, directly.

Andrew McCabe’s Lawyer Thinks Fox News Is in for a ‘Legal Bloodbath’ Over Wuhan Virus Coverage

Michael Bromwich is at it again.

You may recognize his name from his recent pursuit of the spotlight by representing clients such as disgraced former FBI official Andrew McCabe and Kavanaugh hearings centerpiece Christine Blasey Ford. Now, he’s making wild claims about Fox News being sued for their Wuhan virus coverage.

Bromwich is also a former DOJ inspector general, which should serve as a reminder of just how dangerous many of the “civil servants” in our government are. This is a guy who’s supposed to be a respecter of rights and laws suggesting that someone pursue completely frivolous lawsuits against a media outlet, not because they broke liable laws, but just because he doesn’t like them.

Further, his legal assertion is just idiotic.

They are pressed to contain this as much as possible. They would recommend we stay separated until we are a third world country, and given their job task, would be correct. But that is not the goal of everyone else. Capiche?

I'm not laid off, ignorant.

You're mocking people for complaining about not being able to easily access trivial services. Its wreaks of an idiocy draped in some stupid belief that all is pretty much normal other than a few inconveniences. Ask the unemployed hair cutter how normal things are.

My mistake, I thought you told me the other day you were.

Blah blah blah, it is pretty much normal with the exception of some inconveniences...for me. Wtf you want me to do? Cry and bitch about it like some of you? I'm dealing with it. I help who I can and take care of myself and my family. That's all I know to do. What are you doing? If I'm the person that cut Justin's hair, Id give him his money back if I knew he was crying on here about having to drive so far to help me out financially.

Ft. Myers beach was booming yesterday after I left church. Yes, I went to church then drove down to see what the beach looked like. People on the beach, walking the sidewalks, getting Togo cocktails etc. Someone yesterday posted the golf course and club house in his/her town was busy.

I'm inconvenienced a bit, but just here on VN I'm reading many posts in several different forums about people spending more time with family and friends and enjoying simpler things and slowing down. Seems they're making the best out of a terrible situation.

Life is going on right now. Some seem more worried about people dying than they do the economy and some seem more worried about the economy (more people die everyday from car crashes etc) than they are people dying. Some are more worried about feeling like an American and being inconvenienced. 3.3 million filing for unemployment and some here are pissed off they can't go to a movie.

To me......Being an American is way more than doing whatever I want whenever I want and however I want with little to no consideration for anyone else.

Everything is mocked on Twitter, no more so than by our dear POTUS.
What kind of idiot would use Twitter to mock something of importance??? Oh yea.

Life isnt close to normal. And I find that to be an absurdly stupid claim. I am employed still. My wife owns a business. Watching something you've worked your ass off for all of a sudden teeter on the edge of a cliff due to idiotic government leadership, should never be the normal.
