Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Ok Volnation. I’m on here waayyy more than my posts show. But here we go...

Here’s a conundrum for you. My dad is almost 88. Mom is 81. Both with history of respiratory issues. Anyway, Dad has been the medical director of a local nursing home for the last 47 years and is still working there 20hrs a week. It’s his life calling. He refuses to stay home despite the current situation. Our county in NY just surpassed 300 cases. I’ve asked him to take a week or two “off” to see how things play out, but he won’t listen.

What do I do? Understand this is what it is and he understands and let things go? Or push to get him to stay at home??
It sounds like he has made his choice...... let him make it.... just support and love them.

Glad you dropped a note, but sad about the reason.

The one argument I can think of -- you've probably made it -- is that because he is at risk, it seems like his going in might increase the odds that he has it and spreads it into the facility before he even knows what's happened.

Sounds like he is doing this in commitment to the residents, which is admirable. But he may well help them most by taking a temporary break.

Most of those people are just too scared to be sued. The left knows if they can collapse the economy they win in November and for some reason Trump is being a dumbass and playing along
lol...poor justin. Maybe donald should go on Jeopardy, since that is the barometer that conservatives use to measure intelligence.

Thanks all for the quick responses. Those were my thoughts as well, but sometimes emotions are heavy and need a little help.

This is a great community despite our “differences.” I’ll go back to my silent lurking.

As much as I hate to say it, you may have to "put your foot down" and insist that your father stop putting his health in danger.

It sucks when the child has to make decisions on their parent's behalf.

I did it some years ago (different circumstances, obviously, but It still hurt when I had to do it).

Justin, damn near everything you've said for the last month has been a crock of ****. You are so narrow minded you appear to not have a lick of sense.

No matter how many of your Twitter losers you post nobody believes any of that 🐂💩. While you all were drooling over the impeachment in January, that started in September, he was busy building his coronavirus task force. Remember him getting called a xenophobe when he banned flights to China Jan 31st?

And now this.
