Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

The Easter thing isnt happening. I know he is trying to bring some hope, but I dont see it.

I dont believe in our response on this, that said, it is what is. And the numbers are about to jump (because that is what viruses do). When daily deaths hit 3 and maybe 4 digits per day, the already frail minded are going to double down on the fear. We are probably approaching the peak at Easter, not living on the slide.

If the numbers are going to jump anyways, then why continue with this lockdown charade game?

Trump has re-committed himself to the refrain of minimizing the virus. The science does not support him. If in fact come Easter it is still rampant and overwhelming hospitals as predicted, he can kiss reelection goodbye.

If the Dems keep pushing this partisan silliness in the aid bill they can kiss reelection goodbye too.

This country’s leadership overall is the absolute worst and they are all made of low moral character and weak fortitude.

Joe Biden is not the answer to this current situation either.

The fundamental problem is not taking it seriously. Any president would struggle mightily with this. But pretending that it's not "so bad," and then continuing with that when everyone that knows the facts tells you how wrong you are, is just nuts.

The Dem leadership is trying to prevent 500 billion secret slush funds. How they battle that is up for debate. But they are right to do so.

Huh??? If by Easter the virus has reached that level of despair then there was nothing that could have been done to stop it. Eventually, that realization will hit home to some of you people.

He already set up a bunch of people to "pack the churches" on Easter, doesn't matter who had control of what.

So, you believe the Dem leadership is on the up-n-up and is doing what is best for the American people?

It depends on your view of economic theory. If you believe that giving corporations a bunch of money and however they spend it, it's good and will trickle down inevitably, then no.

This is the problem with conferring so much power into the office of President. It’s taken decades to get to this point, but it’s clear that we no longer deserve or want the freedoms the founders fought and died for. We deserve the government we have and it’s never going to get better. Even this “civil war” some mouth breathers are clamoring for won’t change things. We’ll just end up substituting a duly elected despot for the despot with the most guns.

I'd say they are up front with what's on their list, fully knowing that 90% wouldn't be in the compromised bill. I guess it is bold of the Republicans to basically say, "it's none of anyone's business where our requested 500 billion goes."

If there are people dying in the halls of hospitals and staff unable to continue due to fatigue or equipment shortages, then Trump's comments are going to do nothing but piss people off

I agree, but if hospitals around the country become overwhelmed and the body count climbs because of Trump's decision to open things back up too early, many on the fence voters will turn to Biden since he is the only other choice (assuming the projections that have been released are correct. Fingers crossed that they aren't).

With that being said, the same could happen if he waits too long to open things back up and millions upon millions of people lose their jobs. He's really in a no win situation because the MSM will hammer him either way.

The Executive branch has grown too much in power. Can be traced back further than 9/11, but that probably marked a huge spike in the out of balance nature of things.

Well, I'm not sure why the churches weren't full this past Sunday for that matter... but that is a subject for another thread. Don't want to get into my opinion about that.

And they’ve said there would be oversight and transparency on where that money goes and to who. You can choose to believe it or not but it was put out there. On the other hand you have the dims who are pandering to every lobbyist and special interest group to push/sneak their bs agenda in a bill meant to directly help people in the middle of a crisis. Right now nobody should give a f*** about airplanes emissions, illegal immigrants, forgiving student loan debt, enabling voter fraud, Obama phones, or the damn JFK arts center.

???

I don't understand. By Easter, if you have such a grim situation, what are you wanting? Are you wanting Trump to press forward and support a longer duration of lockdowns and quarantines? Or will you mock and complain if he throws his hands up and releases the nation from this futile lockdown... assuming the hospitals are overwhelmed anyways?

I'm not sure what your angle is or your source of frustration.

Perhaps uncle Joe can dust off the cobwebs long enough to answer why the N95 masks used during N1H1 (his words) were but replenished ?

You sicken me.

You know you want this to be bad just to hopefully sabotage Trump.

You can lie but we all know its true.gh

But here's a news flash....America has caught on to your parties tricks and Trumps approval is at an all time high.

But seriously how the f do you and your kind sleep at night? It's disgusting the glee you get out of this.

The left and the media will say that Trump has blood on his hands as they wheel out every crying family member of everyone that dies, after he reopens the country for commerce. If he doesn't reopen the country, he will be blamed for tanking the economy. If he doesn't give money to people affected, he will be a cold, heartless, ruthless businessman and be blamed with them losing their homes, cars, jobs, etc. If he gives them money, he will be blamed for ballooning the deficit and debt, and bailing out his wealthy friends.
It’s what you call a lose lose lose lose... proposition.
