Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Went to Kroger today near Memphis with the main goal being soap replenishment. Down to my last 2 bars.

Produce was available but picked at. Bread and meat was hit pretty hard. Canned stuff was almost gone. Frozen veggies and dinners were available but dwindling. Milk and eggs were just about gone. Bar soap was available but liquid was gone.

Coffee however looked like it hadn't been hit hard. You might be ok there.

Thank you, sir.

Fruit and veggies were killed at Bearden Kroger. No tomatoes, potatoes, bananas, etc.

Meat counter. They dont even staff it the last 2 times I've been there.

Milk and eggs were great. Bread was medium.

I am all about the individual. One of my claims here is that it will take individuals to stop this nonsense. To end the insanity. The government and their followers will be the last ones to wake up.

Until individuals stop acting like insane idiots this thing will continue to be a huge problem. Everyone is glued to news networks who are blasting nothing but fear monger I g 24/7. People are being brainwashed into believing this is something we have never seen before and it’s the deadliest thing ever. It’s beyond stupid at this point. Relying on the government is the last thing people need to do.

This is correct. As of now, the mortality rate is 0.5%, as more and more testing is done, this small number will drop-big time. Recovery rate is a difficult thing to put a good number on, as most that have/had the Red Chinese woohoo bat virus, didn't know, won't know they had it. There will countless numbers of people that had it, recovered and didn't even know it! The only "recovery rate" we will have will be based on those that we medically ID'd as having the virus to start with. This is quite common with some other medical problems.

Recovery rate is no more difficult to assign a good number as the death rate is within the data presented in the chart that was referenced. The number of recovered cases defined in the chart is 0. The number of confirmed cases is 22,717. 0 recovered cases/22,717 confirmed cases = 0%. Should anyone believe that number? No. Nor should anyone believe the mortality rate is 0.5%.

Again, the death rate will lag significantly. 12,000 people were confirmed in NY yesterday. Those were added to the confirmed case total. Will any of those 12,000 die at some point. I truly hope not, but the answer is most likely yes. We won't know how many until the virus runs its course in those individuals. Until that number is realized, the total death number will not move, and the perceived mortality rate will be reduced.

Does anyone here honestly think that the cruise industry needs one dollar of help? Their ships aren't US flagged, their crews are 90%+ foreign and they don't matter to our economy if they go under. I'm guessing the banks are whining about losing money is the only reason they are considered for a bailout.

Nope.

You couldn't brew a worse scenario.

Have 300 million people sit indoors for days or weeks with their eyes glued to the news.

It varies each time for me. Last time the produce and meat was mostly gone but most everything else at least was 50% available. Probably just stocking whatever they get in.

I went this morning around 1030. Was surprised at how few people there were. Extra employees but parking lot wasn't even half full. That's pretty much normal for that Kroger on a morning.

Why I said debatable. Probably why they are calling this a "war".

The “they” who are calling this a war is Trump who became jealous when Pence got favorable press as a result of his then daily press briefings with Dr Faucci. Trump has declared himself the war time President

Of course that is another mistake as he proves he is inept in this role

We should offer them pennies on the dollar for their ships and use the scrap metal to build carriers and subs.

Hmmm are there any old people alive? I mean the news has made it out to be like any old person died if they get sick.
They're doing what they must do with old people and that's keeping them away from everyone else and limiting contact. My wife's grandmother's building is on lockdown for 30 days which is warranted

They don't sail under the US flag for tax purposes, so they shouldn't get any tax-funded bailout.

And one of the additional reasons they do that is so they're not subject to US employment laws.

This is not the time to limit his power. Power he should've never had but still. Congress is worse when immediate action is needed. The immediate failure in Benghazi comes to mind.
